This Is What I Can Write About

...I don’t know what I write about. At times I just go and see what’s on my mind for the day or that minute. I try to keep up with the flow of things when I write but my mind goes other places here on paper and in my mind. I have a lot on my mind at times between my kids and just life in general. When there are a few things I can talk about but I few things that I choose not to talk about at the same time. The bad experience that I have had with writing is when I was younger I use to put a lot of things down on paper as far as a diary of some sort. But a few things that I would write in there would not be right for my young mind at the time. Well to make a long story short my grandmother found my notes and I got in trouble real bad for writing what I thought about people and the opposite sex. So I thought to myself stop writing about what I thought and just kept it all in my head then and even now. So people wouldn’t find out what I’m thinking about. More than likely if a person could read my thoughts I would have a lot of people hating me and wanting to fight because I think of good and bad things all the time. The people that have been beneficial to my writing is probably just myself in general I have learned a lot about myself through these years. But then I find myself if I’m alone I think a lot and it’s not a good thing to a person if I’m in a relationship. I tend to think to myself a lot and at times it’s a good thing because I would smile to myself about the good......

...reverses the conventional understanding of war as a necessary, but not definitive, element of the development of states, and instead asserts that successful war is the very foundation upon which all states are built. Much of The Prince is devoted to describing exactly what it means to conduct a good war: how to effectively fortify a city, how to treat subjects in newly acquired territories, and how to prevent domestic insurrection that would distract from a successful war. But Machiavelli’s description of war encompasses more than just the direct use of military force—it comprises international diplomacy, domestic politics, tactical strategy, geographic mastery, and historical analysis. Within the context of Machiavelli’s Italy—when cities were constantly threatened by neighboring principalities and the area had suffered through power struggles for many years—his method of viewing almost all affairs of state through a military lens was a timely innovation in political thinking. Goodwill & Hatred To remain in power, a prince must avoid the hatred of his people. It is not necessary for him to be loved; in fact, it is often better for him to be feared. Being hated, however, can cause a prince’s downfall. This assertion might seem incompatible with Machiavelli’s statements on the utility of cruelty, but Machiavelli advocates the use of cruelty only insofar as it does not compromise the long-term goodwill of the people. The people’s goodwill is always the best defense......

...finishes the battle he realizes that everyone is cheering behind him. When he asks why they tell him that all of his missions were real ones against the buggers and that he had just destroyed all of the buggers. My favorite character in this book is Ender. He is my favorite character for many reasons. One reason is that he is really smart. He has a photographic memory and he has a 200 IQ. He also could out smart adults when he was 5. Another reason why I like him is because he likes to play video games. He says that they make him even smarter. Another reasons why I like Ender is because he doesn't let people take advantage of him. My least favorite character in this book would have to be Peter Wiggin. I despise him for a few reasons. First off because he is a jerk. He always beats up Ender and Valentine. He does this because he always needs to be in control. Another reason why I don't like peter is because he is just as smart as Ender but he uses his smarts for evil purposes. He once skinned a squirrel with out killing it so he could watch it die. Another reason why I don't like him is because even after Ender saves the world he still doesn't give Ender any respect. My favorite part in this book is when Ender defeats the buggers. This is my favorite part for 3 reasons. One, because the buggers have been destroying mankind since the year 2034. Two, Because they are ruthless killers...

What Does This Picture Tell Us About the Society That Produced It?

...What does the creation of this picture tell me about the society that produced it? Well. ‘Going to the Match’ – LS Lowry The creation of this picture illustrates a society of partisan football enthusiasts who have all gathered together to share the buzz of excitement they can’t contain. Around them wonder a minority of passers-by dog-tired from a day’s hard work and noticing the atmosphere they don’t mind being in, but still going about their routine lives and missing out on such a joyous occasion. Many surrounding the stadium are equidistantly positioned to convey their mutual intention of attending the match and eventually forming a crowd of supporters as a whole. The picture signifies the essence of football in the particular society and how it contributes to their social spirit. Despite the overcast evening, the fanatics are in oblivion, not paying any attention to potential rainfall or its frost, but seeking solace in what the match promises. An evening of sheer exuberance, unity and heartfelt emotion. The neighbouring factory looks to blow out in frustration on behalf of the entrapped workers aching to get out and in the vibe of the ongoing match that’s within an agonisingly close range. So close, yet so far. The stadium has long been infested with swarms of aficionados, and still plenty hastily battling for an initial spot in the plethora of queues unconsciously formed on the way inside. The sense of urgency holds the significance of conveying the......

I have chosen Salesforce.com as the organization for my analysis and believe that the description provided would help in giving a better understanding of the organization for any third party considering a position with the organization. This organization was developed about fifteen years ago with the objective of bringing together better and reinvented customer relationship management services (CRM) using the mechanism of cloud computing. They have revolutionized the process of CRM, and the way they have incorporated the entire system in cloud computing led to the foundation of a path breaking philanthropic model for them to follow. It eventually went on to become the leading enterprise in cloud ecosystems. With this system, industries and organizations are able to connect with...

...individuals learn about reasons for drug and alcohol abuse, the way certain substances can affect the body, how relationships can be affected by addiction. A drug is any substance (with the exception of food and water) which, when taken into the body, alters the body's function either physically and/or psychologically. Too much use of drug, may cause mental/psychological effects in perception, orientation, memory and judgement. It may also cause health and physiological effects like communicable diseases. We’ve learned many things about drugs because we have created a documentary about drug abuse when I was in fourth year. We interview about 4 to 5 people who use drugs. The other said that when you are on drugs, you will feel very brave, alive and strong. Example is marijuana, it makes you high and energetic. His reason about using drugs is curiosity and family problems. Many people turn to drugs because of peer pressure, curiosity, adventure, to feel good, to escape from reality and because of easy access of drugs. There are commonly used drugs. One of the example is Hallucinogens, a drug which can cause hallucination, perception anomalies, and other subjective changes it thoughts, emotions and consciousness. So, using drugs can lead us to abnormalities. Substance seeking behavior can lead us to various criminal and anti-social acts. How could we know if a person is on drugs? I have encountered many people that without doubt, uses drugs. Like our neighbor, about 2-3......

Writing About What Matters

...Writing about What Matters Martin Luther King gave the “I Have A Dream…” speech where he proclaims that it is time to cash a check that has long been due to them. It is not money that is wanted it is a demand to have the riches of freedom and the security of justice. King brings up things that should no longer be satisfied by the colored population. By listing these things King brings out the faith in people to take action and make the changes that are needed. The ending of this speech brings the message of freedom for all not just blacks. President Obama spoke on the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington sharing how much King influenced the changes that were made following his speech. Obama spoke about how through all the hatred a nonviolent path was taken in order to get this freedom. Finding courage within others and ourselves is what leads us to be able to move forward and make a difference in the future. At the end of Obama’s speech he says that the promise of tomorrow comes from the lessons of the past. A country can only change its ways because of the love from the people. The dream has changed over the past 50 years to become something even bigger. There is so much more diversity in America today and more people share the same struggles. The vision changed to become more than just a fight for equality for blacks but for everyone who is struggling for the freedom to be themselves. These visions could not be added to or changed. They represent what two......

Also, this worksheet introduces the idea of “tangent lines” to circles. Later on in Math 124, you’ll learn how to find tangent lines to many other types of curves. 1. Two circles, called C1 and C2 , are graphed below. The center of C1 is at the origin, and the center of C2 is the point in the first quadrant where the line y = x intersects C1 . Suppose C1 has radius 2. C2 touches the x and y axes each in one point. What are the equations of the two circles? y y=x C2 x C1 Worksheet Math 124 Week 1 2. Let C be the circle of radius 5 centered at the origin. The tangent line to C at a point Q is the line through Q that’s perpendicular to the radial line connecting Q to the center. (See picture.) Use this information to find the equations of the tangent lines at P and Q below. y Q P x Note: Later in Math 124, you’ll learn how to find tangent lines to curves that are not circles! What You Know About This

...Dorothy Robinson Culture and Society May 13, 2012 Wendell Johnson The social situation that I would like to address in this essay is the problem of crime in our society. We all know that crime is on the rise, most likely due to inequalities in race, education, social class, skills, financial status, and religious beliefs and values. Of course, both functionalists and conflict theorists are marco-level, but have differing views on the reasons for, and reactions to, crime in our society today. Interactionist on the other had is micro-level, meaning it is not that useful to the world. Functionalists believe that crime is important for a society. Crime shows other member of the society what is right and wrong. Social agreement decides how right and wrong is determined. Crime can lead to social change, say functionalists, because the existence of crime proves to the people in the society that the government does not overly control the citizens. Crime can also help the economy of a society by creating jobs for law enforcement officers, psychiatrists, and probation officers. However, even in a functionalist society, too much crime can be bad for the group, causing it to lose the standard harmony and ultimately causing the society to failure. Also it is suggested that the existence of crime is functional in its ability to gather families and communities together for a common purpose. Conflict theorists feel that crime is products of a struggle for power and control.......
