In regards to the information that was provided to us I found that fiber is a very interesting nutrient. When it comes to maintaining a good healthy diet, I always knew that fiber had to be a part of it because it helps release your wastes. Even though all of this information is true, there is much more incentives to fiber that I never knew existed. For example, I found it very interesting that the body never digests the fiber that is consumed. The reason for this is because fiber cannot be digested by enzymes in the human stomach r small intestine, which therefore is not absorbed at all. The results in fiber staying within the walls of the gastrointestinal tract, creates bulk that helps maintain water within the tract, which will then increase the rate and ease, at which material moves through the gastrointestinal tract, which will then increase the rate and ease, at which material moves through the gastrointestinal tract. The food source called fiber consists of peas, green beans, spinach, broccoli, berries, eggplant, prunes, whole wheat bread, kidney beans, pinto beans, and much more. After reviewing the information, that was provided to us I realized that there are two different types of fiber. These two filters consist of soluble fiber and insoluble fiber. Soluble fiber forms viscous solutions in water and can broken down by the intestinal micro-flora. When it comes to insoluble fibers, for the most part, it is fiber that does not dissolve in water and can be broken down by the intestinal micro-flora. When it comes to insoluble fibers, it is fiber that does not dissolve in water and cannot be broken down by bacteria in the large intestine. Between adults and children, adults need more fiber than what children do because their metabolism slows down causing a lack of efficiency.

...Although my tuition is paid for in full, I still have a job as a college student. I feel as if you should let your situation determine if you should have a job or not. The first benefit of having a job in college is that, you will earn some money. You can use your earnings to buy things you want, save for the future, pay any expenses you have and help pay your tuition. The more you earn the less money you might have to take out in student loans. For example, during my Uncle’s first few years of being a college student, he had to cover a huge portion of his tuition costs through borrowing a hefty sum of money while my parents helped cover the rest. Once he started working part-time jobs, he was able to fully fund his education out of his own pocket instead of being required to borrow an additional amount of money. Also, no matter if......

...Tuition Reimbursement Report: Financial aid from employers is looked upon as a major benefit (or perk) offered for positions within the company. There is an opportunity for both the employee and company to benefit from additional educational experiences, which is why this benefit has become such as big thing when people are looking for jobs. Employers typically will offer up the financial funding to support an employee’s desire for educational advancement, and will not require any repayment of the money. A common trend for companies is to have the employees pay for the courses and materials up front, and then reimburse the money (or at least a portion) at the completion of the course, or semester. Some companies only reimburse a portion of the money at the completion of a course, in order to hold a sort of commitment with the employee to complete the degree. Once the employee completes the full degree, the “withheld amount” is then reimbursed over the course of a year or two. This is done in order to avoid employees from gaining a degree for free from one company and then leaving to work elsewhere. The tuition reimbursement program is typically overseen and handled by a member of the company’s Human Resource department. This individual serves as the point of contact to ensure that the necessary criteria have been satisfied for each semester prior to approving reimbursements. Additionally any questions pertaining to guidelines and company policies related to......

...Tuition Reimbursement Implementation Report Business is all about finding the right balance between performance, integrity and employee retention. “Success in business is seen as making profits and advancing private interest and having an unlimited ambition for money, position and power whereas the moral life by contrast, focuses on duties to others and places others’ interest over self,” said by M.V. Subbiah, Chairperson, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). The value of providing tuition reimbursement from a company such as ours is priceless to its employees and its shareholders. It may seem impartial advice, because I am one of those who would benefit from tuition reimbursement. As an active shareholder in my company and a working member of management I see the need for this benefit to be offered. By having benefits such as this one I believe that our company shall see a large return for its investment in education. Consider the following when addressing the question of tuition reimbursement: The retention of people and the decrease in turnover; improved performance within our organization; motivation for our associates to succeed; stronger promotions within our company. As a four year associate of our company I have found working at Wal-Mart to be one of the best choices of my life. I have come to work with long term associates who have dedicated so many years to a belief that we provide our customers the lowest prices and best customer service in retail....

...be having sex in the first place. An abortion can cause both short-term and long-term physical complications, and can significantly affect a woman's ability to have healthy future pregnancies. Physical complications include cervical lacerations and injury, uterine perforations, bleeding, hemorrhage, serious infection, pain, and incomplete abortion. Risks of complications increase with gestational age and are dependent upon the abortion procedure. It has been documented that women that have had an abortion may suffer from psychological complications. There are more than 375 studies that show at least a minority of women, typically between 10 and 20 percent, have one or more negative reactions shortly after an abortion. Initially many report feelings of relief; however, after longer periods of time since the procedure, more negative reactions are reported. There is often a five to ten year period of denial during which the women will have repressed feelings. Women reported sleep disorders such as nightmares or insomnia and memory loss. Even though these may seem to be on the milder end of possible emotional effects of an abortion, they can become quite severe, stated Cheryl Weldon in Women’s Health. Joe Messerli stated in an article, Should Abortion Be Banned? No social issue in America since slavery has ever been as divisive as that of abortion. No issue brings out so much passion and hatred of the other side. Any court decisions related to abortion regularly bring......

Tuition Reimbursement Implementation Report

...Tuition Reimbursement Implementation XCOM 285 Essentials of Managerial Communication Tuition Reimbursement Implementation The popularity of tuition reimbursement programs is growing across America’s businesses. Some believe that tuition reimbursement for employees is only encouraging them to seek jobs elsewhere after the employee receives his or her degree. However, studies outlined by Pattie, M., Benson, G., & Baruch, Y., in Tuition Reimbursement, Perceived Organizational Support (2006) disclose that employers who take an active role in the education process with the employee are more likely to have higher ratios of employee retention after graduation. New Opportunities for Employees Career growth and advancement are two elements employees value about their jobs. It is essential for an employee to feel a sense of accomplishment when allowed to apply the skills gained through education to the employees current job rather than feeling as though they need to change jobs to apply his or her degree. Tuition reimbursement programs when coupled with career growth and advancement for employees can be extremely effective and lucrative for companies. For example, implement an incentive program for a raise or a promotion for employees close to graduation acknowledging their latest accomplishment. This type of tactical move by an employer encourages employee retention, making him or her feel valuable and important in their job. Employees feel valued when an......

...Developing Good Business Sense Danae Jefferson Bus/210 Belinda Bullard June 3, 2012 Developing Good Business Sense The three companies I choose to observe and how the employees do their task on the daily basis were Wal-Mart, Kroger's, and HEB. Wal-Mart’s employees most of the time were unable to do their job because of a lack of help. The cashiers customer service and managers were very busy most of the time they were not able to do their job correctly because of a lack of the employees on the night the shifts. Kroger's was more organized and seems to be very attentive to their customer’s needs. There was always enough lanes open and help on the floor to help answer any questions that a customer might have or need help with in finding a product. Kroger's employees were more eager to help find a product. HEB was also very attentive to the customer’s needs. While shopping at HEB there's all ways more than enough lanes open and help on the floor to help assist you with your needs. While shopping at HEB the managers and the employees always had a smile and were very well groomed. Wal-Mart had a difference in operation during the night shift. There were fewer cashiers available to help the customers and no manager on duty at that time. During the daytime at Wal-Mart there are always more cashiers and a manager available in the daytime hours. The employees and the store are more organized during the daytime.
