...Personal Responsibility Rough Draft An individual’s personality is made up of many different parts including personal responsibility. This can arguably be the most important part of one’s character because it can reveal who they really are. My level of personal responsibility shows to others the importance I place on every facet of my daily life. These can range from my ability to cope with rapid change, the importance I place on my education, and my level financial responsibility. These daily events, along with many others, require a great deal of personal responsibility. I believe that taking responsibility for my obligations not only shows others what kind of person I am, it also boosts my self-esteem and puts me at peace. Most people, including students, teachers, and others who work with deadlines know the relief that can only be felt when a large assignment or project is completed. Being responsible for my assignments, tasks, and other daily burdens rewards me with a strong sense of accomplishment, followed by peace of mind. Obtaining a college degree is undoubtedly one of the truest tests of endurance and dedication. Though most undergraduate students obtain their degree in four years, it can be completed in as little as three years. This is a prime example of benefiting from a strong sense of personal responsibility. A successful college career is the ultimate test of responsibility, consisting of strict deadlines and difficult exams with little to no......

The metaphors in the music can easily become a reference for how they create their ideals. New York Times posted that the average teenager listens to over 2.5 hours of music daily. ...Case 12-9: Rough Waters Ahead 1. How should Smooth Sailings’ management perform the recoverability test for the cruise ship as of December 31, 2010? a. What assets and liabilities should be included in the “asset group” as defined by ASC 360-10 for purpose of performing the recoverability test? i. FASB ASC paragraph 360-10-35-23 states that for measuring an impairment loss, long-lived assets should be group with other assets and liabilities at the lowest level for which identifiable cash flows are largely independent of the cash flows of other assets and liabilities. ii. As a result, I’ve decided to include the cruise ship in the asset group, because it’s an asset that we’re performing the recoverability test for. I also decided to include net working capital of $0.1 million, because net working capital is often included in asset groups. However, I did not include the nonrecourse debt of $4.0 million because its cash flows are too debt on the asset itself. Furthermore, FASB ASC paragraph 360-10-35-27 states that long-term debt should be adjusted before testing the asset for recoverability. Total = $4.7 mm b. How should the multiple operating scenarios impact the recoverability test? iii. FASB ASC 360-10-35-30 states that when multiple courses of action are considered to recover the carrying amount of a long-lived asset (asset group), then the likelihood of each of these situations should be considered, and a probability-weighted approach should be useful. It is......

According to the report, the carcinogenetic effect of benzo (a) pyrene was already proven and other PAHs were suspected to have similar effects. The US EPA categorized these PAHs and selected 16 compounds that were found and monitored to prove the claims. They are were named as the sixteen EPA-PAHs. The emission sources for these compounds that were presented in the study as having an anthropogenic origin. Following this, the European Commission issued a position paper on monitoring PAHs in the air (European Commission, 2001). The effort has been of great importance since PAHs are by-products of nearly every combustion. The strategy have also improved the air quality requirement for the European Union. These standards set by the paper have to be met and complied with by involving tests by government authorities (Goia, 2007). Sampling Methods In this case, different methods of measuring the atmospheric concentrations of PAHs are of importance. The main effective approaches to be used are; active and passive sampling. Active Sampling Active sampling devices are considered less practicable for a wide spread usage. They usually require a power supply and therefore considered costly and difficult to apply. Passive Sampling On the other hand, Passive sampling often involves small, simple and light devices that measure average......

I chose these stories because they both consist of strong symbolic references to life. Each story was written in a third-person point of view and consisted of a journey made by the main characters, which in both cases happened to be a black woman. Although in one story the character was already dead and in the other, fighting death, there are many similarities between the stories told.
