“There is an immediate hundredfold reward for those who walk out of their commitments and dependents and join Jesus on the road; there will be even greater rewards ‘in the age to come’”
Jesus and Discipleship by Corneck discusses the quality, requirements, demands and sacrifices in order to become a disciple of God and the nature of the relationship shared between God and his disciples, “Disciples are those who believe in Christ and stand in a personal relationship to him as their Lord.”
The definition of disciple is pupil – someone who learns from a teacher. Disciple is used in the bible to refer to the 12 disciples of Jesus. FG- disciples is someone who has responded in faith to Jesus.
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” This is supported by Smalley, ‘Certainly the FG is a Gospel for Christian disciples. The Christ of St John invites people not only to live, but also to go on living in him.”
Opinion: I agree because bible states every human being is called to be a disciple (vocation) and relationship is full of faith and love however this loving relationship was severed when humans disobeyed God. Jesus was the first disciple who came to restore the severed relationship with God and his people (redemption) and appreciated the sacrifices he must give in order to reach this, “For the son of man…must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.” (Luke). The world will be judged by its response to the person and work of Christ, “Whoever believes in him is not condemned.”
FG highlights the ‘nature of the relationship beween Son and the Father must be mirrored by the relationship of the disciples to Christ.’ Showing it’s concerned primarily with the relationship between God and his people, “Discipleship is the primary Christian category for John.”
Corneck states prayer is the ‘bedrock of discipleship.’ And will discover God’s will and grow confident in God’s love. (elaborate further in part b)…...

...and no opinion on marital matters; they were to do as told by their husbands. For many years women were considered the weaker sex. As time has progressed, women have become more and more opinionated and are willing to stand up for what they believe in. Women were finally able to voice their opinion in the presidential election in 1920. The 19th Amendment of the Constitution was ratified and gave women the ability to vote in sufficient states. Women today have a much better life than in the past 100 years. Women are able to voice their opinions without being subsequent to punishment. More and more women are single mother’s who have taken on the responsibilities of both mother and father. Women have become more aware of their abilities and are taking their abilities to the top of the world. As of today, there are 76 women in the House of Representatives and 17 in the Senate of the United States. This alone means a lot to those who have felt women have been denied rights to voice their opinions. The first actual account or record of a homosexual relationship was in the 24/25th Century BCE. The tomb of Khnumhotep and Niankhkhnum was built in Egypt. Over the next hundreds of years, the gay and lesbian community experience love and hate from various locations across the world. There are some countries in the world today who literally execute any who admit that they are gay or lesbian. Those who are part of the gay and lesbian community are treated poorly, in my opinion. ...Kevin Thomas GE217 Hudson 12/16/12 Opinion on John Ellis John Ellis’s opinion on violence on television was very one sided. He primarily focused on the increase in violence on television correlating directly to the increase in violence in school. While this is a factor to consider in the increase of violence, he never once looked at his examples of students that committed these horrific crimes home life. The way the perpetrators grew up surely needs to be considered. Home life plays a big part on how the person will develop and moral standing on how they will react to actually doing a horrendous crime like shooting children in a school. John Ellis’s percentages on the increase in violence on television were astounding. If a person watches television a lot of the time of course that will affect the way they view life in death if they are seeing it so blatantly disregarded on television every day. Taking all of what John has written, I do not feel that violence in television is the only reason for the increase in school shootings. Violence is a part of the world, that is just the case and it always has been. What he did not look at is the whole picture. While I agree that violence in television has increased significantly, that cannot be the only factor in why someone would commit these crimes. What pushed these people over the edge? Why were these people watching television episodes with so much violent in them so often? Why did the parents of this person not supervising......

...that mirrored that of male counterparts. Training consists of classes on culture and language, instruction on how to conduct engagements, and combat skills (including weapons handling, personnel searching, and patrolling). FETs are trained to understand the culture, practice and ways of Afghan life, since making a sound connection within Afghan communities is the key to their success. I feel that these women met the physical standards set by Headquarters Marine Corps for combat deployment as Female Engagement Teams and in the absence of new orders I revert to the established policies that allow women to operate in combat zones. I have explained my personal observations of women operating in a combat operation, now I will offer my opinion of a woman’s right to choose. Women have earned the opportunity to serve as pilots in direct support of combat troops during engagements and I believe they should have the opportunity to earn the chance to operate in a kinetic environment. The website News Observer.com provides an article “Female Troops Still Battling for Right to Fight.” The article states that due to cultural taboos in Iraq and Afghanistan, women are volunteering for duties that send them into dangerous neighborhoods and villages where insurgents hide, to search females for weapons and obtain information. Male Marines would not be able to conduct these types of interviews without disturbing the local male populace. The females are not doing this for notoriety...

...Opinion Paper Dress code has been the biggest topic between the Board officials and parents. There have been many decisions and arguments that were worked out by administration and local school, often at the request of parents. There should be a dress code for students for several reasons. Many public schools today are making dangerous decisions and these decisions may end up saving someone's life. The decisions are about school uniforms and dress codes. Public schools are beginning to open their eyes to the real world and see what their students are wearing and what the clothes are about. Some schools have banned any clothes with inappropriate symbols or sayings. Baggy wear is very dangerous. Schools are now even taking away the privilege of those clothes for the reason that weapons and other dangerous, illegal items may be smuggled in under loose pants, hats, shirts and jackets. The cost of maintaining a stylish wardrobe can be expensive. Many families have more important things to spend their money on than the image of school children. The dress code may be a way to keep the costs of school down for those families. In some schools, there has even been fighting or stealing based on expensive sneakers or jewelry. There are many clothes in fashion for boys and girls which are not appropriate for school dress. Good taste and common sense should dictate parental and student choice of school clothes. The school will determine what is not......

Opinion Comparator

... This paper proposes a novel tool named as Opinion Comparator for analyzing and comparing consumer opinions on competing products. This tool is useful to both potential customers and product manufacturers. A potential customer can see a visual comparison of products, which helps him/her to decide which product to buy. For a product manufacturer, the comparison enables it to easily gather marketing intelligence. This tool shows the features of a product along with their polarity on a bar graph. This tool uses language pattern mining and it extracts product features from the reviews of the format containing Pros and Cons of a particular product. Experimental results show that the technique is highly effective as it summarizes product reviews given by different customers. Communications Opinion

...| Communication Opinion Paper | Jessica Gipson | HCS/320 | | Sandra Anderson | | As per Communicating in the Workplace ((cheesebro, o'connor, & rios, 2010,) communication is defined as the process of sending and receiving information” but just because information was sent and received does not mean there is an understanding. This same ((cheesebro, o'connor, & rios, 2010,) states “effective communication is shared understanding between the sender and the receiver of the message sent” There are basic elements of communicating; Sending, receiving, encoding, decoding, message, channel and feedback. When communicating the sender and receiver are all the parties involved, you send and receive information simultaneously. The original sender originates an idea or thought and to communicate it they encode their thoughts into words. The receiver then decodes in a process to understand what the sender was trying to say. “The message is a thought, feeling or opinion being communicated.” ((cheesebro, o'connor, & rios, 2010,) When sending and receiving a message you will send and receive verbal content but you will communicate nonverbally as well. Channeling is the way the message travels examples is face to face communication, email, telephone calls, and test messages, shaking hands and patting someone on the back is also a form of communication. And finally, the feedback is the receiver’s response to the information that was received. During the feedback...

Opinions

...Matter of Opinion I do not agree with the article and I would like to explain why. First let’s take a look at the statement “entitled to an opinion”, what does it mean to be entitled? Entitlement is simply staking claim, so when someone says they are “entitled to their opinion” what they are saying is they are claiming the opinion as theirs. We can assume this to be true because they have stated an opinion and now they are stating that the opinion is theirs, while this should be the end of the story it is far from over. Part of the problem with this article is the fact that the author is stating his opinion that “people are not entitled to their opinions” as fact, however he contradicts himself. Fact either is or is not true, so either people are entitled to their opinions or they are not, he can’t have it both ways, but this is exactly what he is trying to do when he specifically states in the article that there are some opinions that just can’t be argued, such as those involving personal preference (Stokes, 2012, para 7). It makes sense then that if an opinion cannot be argued against for reason of logic then the person of the opinion must be entitled to it. My argument does not stop there however, let’s just assume people who have opinions on their personal preference are not entitled to them and move on to what I believe the author was really trying to convey, people should not have an opinion unless it is based in fact and they can back it up. What about Juries?......

Fairness Opinion

...FAIRNESS OPINIONS IN MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS Anil K. Makhija* The Ohio State University Rajesh P. Narayanan Ohio University April 11, 2007 ____________________________________________________________ __________________ Abstract Fairness opinions provided by investment banks advising on mergers and acquisitions have been criticized for being conflicted in aiding bankers further their goal of completing the deal as opposed to aiding boards (and shareholders) by providing an honest appraisal of deal value. We find empirical support for this criticism. We find that shareholders on both sides of the deal, aware of the conflict of interest facing advisors, rationally discount deals where advisors provide fairness opinions. The reputation of the advisor serves to mitigate this discount, while the contingent nature of advisory fees appears to have no impact. We also find support for allegations that fairness opinions are sought by boards for the legal cover they provide against shareholders unhappy with the deal’s terms. University of Phoenix Communication Opinion Having a healthy communication between employees and customers or patients is important in every Industry around the Globe. In healthcare, this fact is even more important since a simple mistake could cause someone their life. It is crucial that both patients and employees communicate in a practical matter to get the message across and assure that everything is followed without any mistakes. Effective communication is much more needed in healthcare, any communication with the patients or between coworkers needs to be specific and direct, making sure that the message is received and understood is crucial. In general, we communicate an Idea to the person but unless we are more efficient transmitting that idea the person could only catch half of that message. ...Communication Opinion Paper HCS/320 July 18, 2016 Communication Opinion Paper Communication is a skill that we use in our everyday lives, but hardly think about. It is more in depth than just talking and listening; it is the process of how we send and receive messages. To be an effective communicator you have to learn the language and understand the meaning. The basic elements of communication include verbal, nonverbal, and written. The manner in which we use these elements depends on the communication style and ability of the sender and receiver. In the health care industry these elements are used to relay messages from leadership to employees, coworker to coworker, or provider to patient. Knowing how to effectively communicate in health care provides the patients with quality care; by encouraging doctor-patient interaction, correctly acknowledging cultural differences, and overall providing a positive experience. In order to be an effective communicator you have to be able to understand and implement the basic elements of communication. These elements include a sender, the message, and a receiver.
