Pastor Paper

...Youth Pastor Interview By Brian Weathers It takes a special kind of person to want to lead the young people in today’s society/ I have a close friend that is serving as a youth pastor at a local church in our small town in Woodruff South Carolina. He has been serving as a youth pastor for over ten years now and still has the desire to teach and fellowship with the youth at his church. Tony tells me that the age group that he has on a weekly basis range from thirteen years of age to seventeen years of age. He also tells me that he really enjoys this range of ages because he can really relate to what they deal with on a daily basis because he has a son that fits into this range of ages that he teaches on a weekly basis at his church. In interviewing Tony for this paper he describe his teaching opportunities that he has is both formal and informal. He has the typical Sunday morning and evening services that would be considered as formal teaching opportunities and then there are Wednesday night services that would also be considered as a formal teaching opportunity that he does every week. As far as the informal opportunities would be when they have gatherings that is not included in the normal service times and this is a great way to reach the ones that come just for fun and fellowship not inside the church building. The way that he breaks down his youth group is by what current grade the student is actually in. This way he can keep the same ages......

Mas New

...CEO of Malaysia Airlines (MAS) Dato Idris Jala has announced a drastic restructuring of human resources. It is being restructured by terminating the staff of Malaysia Airlines (MAS). As we all know, MAS is considered as a big company and the number of staff in MAS is quite a large number. When there are a lot of staffs, they need to pay salaries to all of them. Salary is one of the expenses that they need to incur in the cost. Since MAS were facing a lot of problems, they need to cut some of the cost and one of it is by terminating the unproductive staffs. However, MAS is well known with their good UNION of workers. The definition of UNION is a democratic organization of working people standing up for their rights on the job. There is one situation that really happens in MAS that shows the UNION is very strong in MAS. In a case of MAS, when MAS planned to the share swap arrangement with Air Asia, it was not being agreed by the UNION. It is because of them, by joining Air Asia, it will give a bad image to MAS. MAS are a very well known and established company whereas Air Asia is a low budget company. Due to that, MAS management has cancelled the deal with Air Asia. This one example has shown us that the UNION in MAS is a strong UNION. When the CEO of MAS had come out with the idea of restructuring of human resources, they should also come out with a scheme named Mutual Separation Scheme or MSS. This scheme is actually being funded by compensation. MAS Airlines received its......

Pastor as Theologian in the Wesleyan Spirit

...Pastor as Theologian in the Wesleyan Spirit Student: Ken Miller Part #1 Simply stated, theology is the study of God. But, it’s much more than that. It’s how God reveals himself to us through divine revelation. To begin our understanding of what theology is, we must examine the deeper question of why theology is. We must consider the purpose of theology…. the why and the how it is done. Theology can easily be viewed as a discipline with many facets. It is viewed in many ways. These are not necessarily to be considered as “stand alone” explanations, because they compliment each other. Five facets of theology are: explaining reality (often times looked upon as much more than an explanation of how things work, but a view of their place in God’s plan), systematization of Christian doctrine ( the practice of presenting Christian doctrine as an ordered or coherent whole), defending the faith and as a bridge for nonbelievers (this “apologetic theology” strives to help us refute the argument of those atheists who state that it’s not reasonable to believe in God), a critique of the life and proclamation of the church (an evaluation of the church and its teachings - often a cross check to evaluate if our sermons, lesson and writings are true to the gospel), and also contemplation (seeking a deeper understanding and intellectual appreciation). Theology and philosophy frequently are at times confused by those not actively engaged in either of the two disciplines. The...

Mas Privatisation

...15% Title of essay: On 8 August 2014, Khazanah National announced plans to privatise Malaysia Airlines (MAS) in an attempt to revive the national carrier as it was struggling financially. Without doubt, the twin aviation disasters, MH370 and MH17, have also further contributed negatively towards MAS financials. The former prime minister of Malaysia, Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that the national flag carrier should be privatised as it is running at a loss. The Malaysia Airlines System Employees Union (Maseu), on the other hand, strongly stated that they will only support the privatisation of MAS if there is to be a new management team. In the past 12 years, MAS has undertaken about half-a-dozen restructuring exercises. Considering its current situation, the idea to privatise is seen as a necessity. In your opinion, can MAS turn itself around if it is now to be privatised? Why or why not? Justify your stand and support your arguments with reasons and examples. You should write between 600 and 650 words. Instructor: Mrs Anuratha Murugagoo On 8 August 2014, Khazanah Nasional Berhad (“Khazanah”) proposed an official petition to the Board of Directors of Malaysian Airline System Berhad (“MAS”) to handle a particular capital cutback and refund apply (“Proposed SCR”) of MAS’ ordinary shares. It shows the strategies of Khazanah National to privatise Malaysia Airlines (MAS) in an effort to recover the federal carrier while it was striving financially. Privatisation can be......

From Pastor to Pastor

Janvier prepared by: AYOBAMIJI JOSEPH OLUWAGUNNA March 2013 CHAPTER 1 It is pertinent to have a good understanding of hermeneutics in order to have a correct content and context concepts in the interpretation of the prophets. Because the Bible is quite uniquely different from all other types of literature – its divine Authorship and inspiration, being the major distinguishing feature and prominent hallmark, the interpretation requires divine guidance. Inspiration is the act of the Holy Spirit in leading a man to record the message of God in written documentary while Interpretation is the act of a man in determining the meaning as intended by God in the original passage and how it applies to us today. Interpretation involves skill, but more critically involves Spirit in keeping to rightness. The grammatico-historical method is generally applicable in Biblical hermeneutics to both basic, broad types of writings contained in Biblical literature. Categorized broadly as prose and poetry. Further insights is gained when there is understanding of the literature type being interpreted. Features of Old Testament prophecy: •......

... James Nwoji, Wilfred Woko, Augustus Asonye, Godwin Akwarandu, Ebenezer Eborgu (all later Ministers of the Gospel), and many others are converted into the Christian faith, all under the Faith Tabernacle Church. (August 1934) The brethren, fresh with zeal for the Lord, and deep into the scriptures, discover the promise of the Holy Spirit meant for all who believe in Jesus Christ as written in Acts 2:39. However, the doctrine of the baptism in the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues, is rejected by the Faith Tabernacle Church and this leads to the ejection of the brethren from the Faith Tabernacle Church. With the ejection, a new church - "The Church of Jesus Christ" is born, with Reverend Augustus Asonye as the first Pastor and Reverend George M. Alioha as the pioneer Overseer. Churches are opened in Old Umuahia and Port Harcourt. (June 1939) Reverend W.L. Shirer and his wife, US Assemblies of God foreign missionaries to then Gold Coast (Ghana) make their first historic visit to Nigeria, upon visitation to assess the situation of the young Church. (September 1939) First General Council held; Brethren accept the doctrines of the Assemblies of God, especially as pertaining to the Holy Spirit. Pastors and Ministers

...The Roles of Pastors and Ministers in the Church In a church ministry we must all be balanced. Remember that we are partners’ not just members in the church body as a whole. Also remembering that no matter what our religion of choice is that pastors and ministers both have valuable roles in the church. Pastors and ministers are partners in the purpose and calling of the church. They must both be on the same page as far as the vision, mission and well being of the church as a whole. Even though the Vision of the church comes from the pastor it is the duty of the minister and the members to carry out this vision and the mission. The pastor is the God appointed leader of the church and the minister is appointed by the pastor but both must hold a high regard to biblical basis for the ministry. They have been called and appointed as overseers of the church. There is a necessity for both of them. They are to serve and to implement order to the church body. They are both held to the same accountability. They are both servants of God and they serve the congregation. The difference between the two is that the ministers are to keep down mumbling amongst saints in other words, keep down confusion. Look after the widows of the church and be able to relieve the pastor of his duties if necessary. The pastor is a God appointed leader and the minister is a God appointed servant. Both of their primary function is to understand the purpose of Jesus and how to lead the......
