PA 301 Case Study 1-7,
Public Administration is a term that is used to describe the multi-disciplinary activities that are needed to help society function.
The justice system could have been more firm when it came to putting Cartier in jail rather than always placing him on probation where he would have access back to the streets, and back to harming women. The justice system looked at this case as being routine, dismissing charges, allowing Cartier to skip court appearances, accepting his denials to threats,
He played on the peoples need to be included, and to be dealt with as real people, rather than just a minor political body whose purpose is minute.
Secondly personality, his personality to be more specific is the fuel that drove all of his endeavors, it is what made him act like he did, talk like he did, think like he did and he was open enough to new things that he could morph his personality to suit whatever his needs were at the time, or whatever the councils needs were at the time. His time in the military, as with most people that have been in the military, played a big part on shaping his core personal traits, and applying that, with a personality whose goal is more to treat the people he’s dealing with as important, he was able to excel in solving problems with people, rather than trying to just solve problems for people.
. Mr. Michael Bennet (Denver superintendent) attempted to do this. The Mayor figured Bennet would be a good choice. Bennet’s war on waste failed miserably.

...May 2012 Principals of Finance FIN301 Module 1 CFO to CEO is it good idea and do they have what it takes to lead their respective organizations into the future. This is a very good question over the next few minutes we will discuss that very question and I will show you two CFO to CEO’s that made it by two different routes. I will conclude with my person perspective and closing thoughts. Dalton Tong is the President and CEO of Greater Southeast Healthcare System, Washington, D.C. and yes a CPA (Sandrick, 1995) Mr Tong, a well respected CPA amongst other things has risen through his career by way of what I would consider normal progression. He started as a CFO at the local level (hospital level) then progressed to CFO at the corporate level. After holding that position he move into a Chief Operating Officer positions and finally culminating as the CEO of Greater Southeast Healthcare System, Washington, D.C.. (Sandrick, 1995). This I consider a natural and healthy progression, by gradually moving out of his personal comfort area (finance) he had the opportunity to grow and develop. As leaders, and that is what we are talking about leadership, we have to be able grasp concepts normally no withing our expertise arena. The way to accomplish this is to “wade into the unknown waters”. Mr. Tong did not just jump in. The “wading” allowed him to pick up valuable information required to make sound educated judgments that will lead the company and the share holders into a......

By design, the bulk of the remain- ing 50 percent of Recovery Act funds will be de- ployed in the coming months of 2010 and during the beginning of 2011 to support additional job creation when our economy continues to need a boost. Many of the programs slated to receive additional funding in the near future are those with significant promise of job creation. These include more than $7 billion in broadband expansion, ap- proximately $8 billion in funds to lay the foundation for a high-speed rail network, and continued funding for other transportation projects.” “Restoring Responsibility.” The President has put in place more strict regulations for Investment Managers’ income disclosures. This is a way to increase tax revenue from the wealthy. By doing this it would raise $24 billion within ten years. Case Study #7

...Kellie Boudreaux CMCN 301 Case Study #7 1. The Leader-Member Exchange Theory (LMX) is one that I find to be the most applicable to leadership in the workplace.  LMX theory says that leadership is based on interactions between leaders and followers, and that effective leadership comes from a vertical relationship between the leader and the follower (PSU WC, L.8).  These vertical relationships are described as the in-groups and the out-groups.  In-group members go above and beyond the job description.  They receive more confidence and concern from leaders and their responsibilities are more open ended (Northouse, 2013).  The out-group members come to work, do their job and go home.  They do not strive to build their responsibilities, but are happy doing what’s expected of them. In my past work experiences, this trend rang true.  As I was completing this week’s lesson, I could picture vividly in my mind those I have worked with in the past that have been a part of the in-group and those in the out-group.  I have worked an array of jobs; I was a cook/waiter at a small diner, an intern at a facility manager’s office, and an intern for a construction contractor.  While working for all of these employers, it was easy to see those who were a part of the in-group and out-group.  I think the biggest takeaway from these experiences was that those in the in-group were usually there because of their interest in the job.  To create the relationship needed with the in-group, the......

...A++PAPER;http://www.homeworkproviders.com/shop/pa-301-written-assignment-1-3/ PA 301 WRITTEN ASSIGNMENT 1-3 PA 301 Written Assignment 1-3, According to James H. Svara: “The politics-administration dichotomy model is used for marking off boundaries of public administration. It is used to assert the normative relationship between elected officials and administrators in this democratic society. Public administrators do not make the law, but they implement laws that are made. Let me be clear about the definition of the concept. A city council does not get involved in administration A city manager has no involvement in shaping policies The manager occupies the role of a neutral expert who efficiently and effectively carries out the policies of the council. (Presumably, administrators do not exercise discretion, for to do so open the door to interpreting policy and choosing how and to what it will be applied.)” Wilson’s essay vacillates between the two poles of thought regarding the separability of administration from politics, thereby providing generations of later scholars with ample foot-note ammunition for both sides of the argument. Wilson appeared confused on the matter although the civil service reformers did not. They wished partisan politics out of certain aspects of the public personnel system. The disadvantage to this is government can implement laws without votes. An example, the government bailing out big businesses when they dwindle their funds and are...

Busi 301 Case Study

...Case Study BUSI 301 LUO April 18th, 2016 Megan Wickham Part one: After reading all the details in the Landmark Case 13.4 Diaz v. Pan Am World Airways, Inc. I would have to agree with the court. Mr. Diaz was denied a flight attendant job with the airline because he is a male and that goes against the airline’s policy which states only a female may be a flight attendant. As the case goes to says, Mr. Diaz then filed a complaint with EEOC. His complaint was simply that the airline’s policy was a direct violation of Title VII; discriminating against him based on his gender. From an ethical standpoint and biblical standpoint this is just wrong. The Bible says, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28 NKJV). Pan Am had then argued that gender was a bona fide occupational qualification (BFOQ) for flight attendant positions. Pan Am also argued that passengers preferred women as flight attendants and customer preference in this case should also be considered” (Melvin & Katz, 2015, p. 386). The airline used such information as a nondiscriminatory reason for not hiring Mr. Diaz and as a way to provide, in their opinion, a legally recognizable defense. The airline continued to base and defend their decision of not hiring a male flight attendant as a result of employment policy as business necessity. Although the trail court found in favor for Pan Am, the......
