The term third cinema has found its roots in the so called third world, which generally refers to the nations located in Africa, Latin America and Asia where historical encounter with colonial and imperial forces have shaped their political and economic power structure . at the same time it could be said that the third world is a kind of cinematic response to the first cinema (which conjures images of Hollywood movies , consumption and bourgeoisie values ) as well as second cinema (referring to “nouvelle vague” or the European arthouse filmmaking demonstrating aesthetic but not always political innovation).The reference to the concept of third cinema appeared for the first time in the Cuban film journal ,cine Cubano, (1969) in a report of an interview with members of the cine liberacion group .it was said at that point of time that there is a growing need for the development of a cinema of aggression .one that would put an end to the irrationality that has come before it. Thus beginning in the mid 50s and continuing up to the present these films have helped immensely in forging a sense of national identity and cultural autonomy . it would be interesting to know that at this point of time there was a development of film theory and critical methodology in the first world sectors. This development primarily took place within the realm of second cinema. The following essay reflects on the fact that despite the oppositional nature of both spheres of activity towards the first world studio productions, why does these to spheres of film-making have remained starkly separate. It would be interesting to study this cultural- critical divide .

Merrim-Websters dictionary (2012) defines globalization as, “the development of an increasingly integrated global economy marked especially by free trade, free flow of capital, and the tapping of cheaper foreign labor markets”. When one thinks of globalization, outsourcing may be the first thing that comes to mind. However, globalization and modernization are larger than outsourcing alone. In this paper we will look at two separate examples of native non-western cultures that have been impacted by globalization and further analyze one of these examples. In 1971 the first McDonalds opened in Japan and thus began a slow but steady change in the culture of the Japanese. Traditional Japanese culture centered greatly food and long standing rituals. Prior to the arrival of fast food in Japan, one of the most recognized practices was that of Obentos. Obentos is a process by which food is prepared and arranged by mothers for their school aged children. More than just a boxed lunch, it was significant due to its symbolism. It well look at the conditions in the African nation were in before the decentering of these nations i.e. religion, traditions, and overall culture. Also, this paper will give examples of what the impact of decentering of the African culture by Europeans has had on the continent up to and including present day. A Consideration of IR Theory in (East) Asia: Main Points, critiques and discussion Report By J.R Brown Submitted 06/08/2013 This two-part essay is a collection of papers collated after the completion of the workshop entitled “Why is there no Non-Western IR theory: Reflections on and from Asia.” It conception arose out of Amitav Acharyas’ realisation about the concerning gap between his academic speciality (Third world and Asian security) and International Relations Theory (IRT). His co-author Barry Buzan felt similarly after his various work in and around Asia led him to realise how little asia-specific IRT development was taking place. It is as if all those who analyse the subject were overawed by the grandeur of modern science, and their studies were in the nature of tributes laid at the feet of this great saviour. All analysis starts from the assumption that modern science is a set of value-free theories that uniquely explain reality. ...The people of Mauritius and a people from the Andaman Islands known as the Jarawa are two examples of native non-Western cultures that have been impacted by globalization. The Jarawa, being resident to the Andaman Islands, have a long history of faltering due to globalization. This isolated group of people are a specimen of ancient and unadulterated genetics. They are vulnerable to sea-bound and sea related disasters that have disrupted their numbers, their way of life, and survival. The Jarawa were an isolated but self sufficient culture that survived on the Andaman Islands for millennium and generations. The Jarawa are one of the two only known tribes that have not learned how to produce fire. The Jarawa, being resident to the Andaman Islands, found themselves inhabiting a highly useful and strategic in terms of seafaring and points of empire. The British founded a penal colony at Port Blair in 1858, with disastrous consequences for the indigenous population, whose numbers declined rapidly because of disease and social disruption (Endicott et al 2003).
