...‘Yahoo Consumer Direct Marries Purchase Metrics To Banner Ads’ CASE ANALYSIS GROUP 6 What is Consumer Direct ? 1. Describe the research design for Consumer Direct. 2. Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the research design. VASUNDHARA KEDIA MANDEEP PRADHAN SUDESHNA CHOWDHURY SOURABH SONI SHAURYADIPTA BASU NILOY BISWAS Consumer Direct, is a sequence of online advertising procedures done in conjunction with ACNielsen’s Homescan panel. In this process, Yahoo sets ads to target consumers, and the Homescan network is households that have elected to partake in such studies. From here households reflect back to the advertising agents after viewing a product on-line at Yahoo, and after a cool-down period of six weeks are then placed in the stores to see the purchasing power that the advertisement had on consumers that are part of the Homescan panel. The metrics of this advertising is to view the effectiveness of the ad targets, and the persuasiveness of the advertising to make consumers to want to go out and get the product. Consumer Direct used the descriptive research design. This design aims to observe and describe the usage of Yahoo without influencing the public in any way, in order to determine the effectiveness of the advertising on Yahoo. This design includes describing any behaviours, performing a case study, observing the amount of advertises being bought or look at through Yahoo, and lastly a questionnaire or presentation. The goal is to be more effective and......

Will Foreign Direct Investment (Fdi) in Multi-Branding Retail Improve the Condition of Indian Agriculture?

..."Will Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in multi-branding retail improve the condition of Indian agriculture?" Team : - Avatars Members :- Niloy Roy ( p12niloyr@iimahd.ernet.in / 9974184587 ) Pakki Lakshman Vivek ( p12pakkiv@iimahd.ernet.in / 9974189224) The Indian agricultural sector’s plight makes me recall one of the outstanding scenes of Indian cinema through Ashutosh Gowarikar’s Swades where the protagonist , Mohan Bhargava meets a poor Indian family fallen on hard times who earn their living through selling of clay pots. The unawareness of the real market prices of their goods makes the family suffer losses. Drawing parallels, the chief concerns of farmers in India have been the lack of price security of their produce which I believe, the FDI tries to resolve. The cabinet’s insistence in allowing Foreign Direct Investment in multi branding retail has met with mixed responses all across the nation with different people having varied opinions regarding its impact. With the prime minister oozing confidence over this reform, he has met a lot of opposition from people who believe this is going to harm the unorganized sector of the Indian retail while some feel that the constraints of 51% and the wave of oppositions that it faces will actually make no difference to anyone out there. The supporters of multi brand retail feel that agriculture is the sector which is going to be highly affected in a positive light by this reform. They are not wrong as the impacts are......

Maggi Brand

...The ad has been conceptualized by public’s India.  The latest Maggi ad opens with a voiceover, which says that one has many memories attached with Maggi over a period of 25 years. The ad is a collection of short vignettes, showcasing consumers’ memories of Maggi. For instance, one child remembers eating Maggi on a camping trip; while another person remembers serving Maggi, when people were stuck in the Mumbai floods. The ad concludes with consumers being invited to share their own Maggi story, through which they can get a chance to feature on the Maggi packs or ads. The film has been directed by Arun Gopalan from Storytellers.IN. The team that has worked on Maggi includes Anindya Banerjee, Ashutosh Sawhney, Vishal Chemjong, Sudhir Das, Niloy Som, Lobsang Wangchen, Hozefa Alibhai, Istling Mirc and Smriti Chawla.  As a part of its promotional drive, Maggi has launched a website, meandmeri.in, where consumers can upload their Maggi moments and submit their favorite Maggi recipe. Consumers, whose stories or recipes are a hit with the company, will get a chance to be featured on Maggi packs or ads.  Maggi has generally stayed away from taking the celebrity endorsement route. The only exception was roping in actor, Preity Zinta for a brief period, to promote the Rs 5 Chotu Maggi and the Maggi family packs. All ads for the brand usually focus on the mother-child relationship; therefore, the brand has deliberately stayed away from celebrity endorsements. Marketing Strategies: ...
