Rehabilitation Paper Prisoner rehabilitation is frequently quested to accommodate ability in self evaluation and self development in arrangement to assist prisoners in their exploration for better self-knowledge. Rehabilitation for prisoners is set to discipline them from their crimes. When I had stated discipline, it is also referred to as punishment for all wrongdoings.

The origin of prisoner rehabilitation is to inhibit criminals from performing crimes. Ever since our communities has changed, even from the civil rights movement, the rights and treatment of what is issued to prisoners has been a major concern and has became very questionable. Rehabilitation and programs have increased in almost every prison and jail facility in our country. Theses agendas nevertheless, have not been enough to rehabilitate inmates as urgent punishment decrees are viewing decreased exercises in regards to the struggle over inmate’s rights.

Prisoner rehabilitation does affect prisons and general society due to pride situations. Inmates feel that they are in a disabled or slow class and it makes them either discouraged or changeable. When certain inmates leave from a prison facility and go out into the society, they make have the characteristic to show others what has been taught to them or may have the characteristic to talk about the rehabilitation programs in a negative way to where’s they aren’t able to change. Prisoner rehabilitation does affect the officers, and the other inmates who aren’t in rehabilitation classes. Some inmates may come to a disagreement due to the fact that one may be more relevant than the other because they hate to see someone doing something better with their lives. I believe that gangs are the most due to prisoner rehabilitation because inmates that are gang…...

My Way to a Better Life

...My Way to a Better Life Tish Hessig Skills for Professional Development Elaine Shilling, Ph.D. March 12, 2005 My Way to a Better Life How many of us settle for the easy way out? This is a question that I have been asking myself for many years now with regard to my career. Over the last year I have been thinking about my life a lot; where I am, where I have been and where I am going. I have discovered that I settled for my current career as an administrative assistant because it was the easiest decision for me. I am realizing now that being back in school will change my life. I am completing the work necessary to earn my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management and I still need to learn what I will gain with my college education. How will my life and my daughter’s life change and how will my professional career change once I have earned my college degree? In my present career, a college education will allow me many advantages such as increased earnings, an improved quality of life, more challenging positions to learn and grow, an opportunity to be a member of the management team, and I will be able to mentor others on the importance of a college education. Twenty years ago when I was finishing high school, the only requirement to getting a job was a high school diploma. Today in order to get that same job, we are required to have a college degree. Even though it was not necessary for me to have a college education, I enrolled in the local......

Frank Sinatra Singing It My Way - the Voice of Ol Blue Eyes

...Frank Sinatra Singing It My Way - The Voice of Ol Blue Eyes The heart throb of many a teenage bobby-soxer in the 1940's, Frances Albert Sinatra's career spanned over seven decades. "Ol Blue Eyes," or "The Voice," as Sinatra was often referred, took the torch from idol Bing Crosby and continued the crooning craze until the end of his career in the late 1990's. Sinatra began his singing career in his hometown of Hoboken, New Jersey with a local band called the Three Flashes in 1935. Once "Frankie" joined the group, they were renamed the Hoboken Four. In 1939, Sinatra teamed up with the Harry James Band where he recorded and released his first commercial record, From the Bottom of my Heart. In November 1939, a huge milestone happened for the young crooner. Sinatra was asked by Tommy Dorsey himself to join his band; this would expose Sinatra to a vast audience and help skyrocket him to stardom. Dorsey and Sinatra's relationship was somewhat volatile due to contract negotiations that entitled Dorsey to one-third of Sinatra's entertainment royalties, for a lifetime. Sinatra was later let out of this agreement. Sinatra launched his solo career after leaving Dorsey's band in the latter part of 1942. During his time with Dorsey, Frank released over forty songs, one of which, I'll Never Smile Again, claimed the top spot in the charts for twelve weeks. Exuding an eroticism that gave him that sexy bad-boy image seemed to be just what the ladies were looking for at......

...Technology in Banking Insight and Foresight Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (Established by Reserve Bank of India) Foreword The Indian banking industry, almost in keeping with the deep entrepreneurial approach of the country s business, has come a long way. This report is an effort to capture some exemplary initiatives and developments so far as well as discuss the emerging trends. The insights and understanding of the technology trends and ground-level work being done by the banks has been culled from the nominations received from banks for the IDRBT Banking Technology Excellence Awards 2010. The transformation of Indian banks in the last decade has been phenomenal from local branch banking to global presence and anywhere-anytime banking. Most of the regular banking transactions can today be carried out from mobile phones. Sustained reforms and information technology (IT) have played a pivotal role since the initiation of the second phase of reforms post 1998. The benefits of technology such as scale, speed and low error rate are also reflecting in the performance, productivity and profitability of banks, which have improved tremendously in the past decade. Regulatory initiatives from the Central Bank have also played a large role in the banking sector. Robust technology-enabled organizations have now become the mainstay of the industry. Initiatives such as electronic clearing service (ECS), national electronic funds transfer (NEFT),......

My Way a Discourse Analysis

...My Way by Paul Anka 1969; A Song Lyrics Analysis * Lyrics My Way by Paul Anka 1969 And now, the end is near; And so I face the final curtain. My friend, I'll say it clear, I'll state my case, of which I'm certain. I've lived a life that's full. I've traveled each and every highway; But more, much more than this, I did it my way. Regrets, I've had a few; But then again, too few to mention. I did what I had to do And saw it through without exemption. I planned each charted course; Each careful step along the byway, But more, much more than this, I did it my way. Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew When I bit off more than I could chew. But through it all, when there was doubt, I ate it up and spit it out. I faced it all and I stood tall; And did it my way. I've loved, I've laughed and cried. I've had my fill; my share of losing. And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing. To think I did all that; And may I say - not in a shy way, "No, oh no not me, I did it my way". For what is a man, what has he got? If not himself, then he has naught. To say the things he truly feels; And not the words of one who kneels. The record shows I took the blows - And did it my way! * Theme The lyrics of "My Way" tell the story of a man who, having grown old, reflects on his life as death approaches. He is comfortable with his mortality and takes responsibility for how he dealt with all the challenges of life......

...Feminism can be roughly defined as a movement that seeks to enhance the quality of women’s lives by impacting the norms and moves of a society based on male dominance and subsequent female subordination. The means of change in the work place, politically, and domestically. Women have come a long way since the 19th century. Women have been trying to prove to the male dominant world that they are equal. They can perform and complete any tasks equal, or in some cases better than man. Feminism has changed the definition of men in many ways. Women in the work place have transposed dramatically since the 19th and mid 20th century. Even if women had any education in the 19th century they were not allow to manifest any of it. It just was not proper for women to give any signs of intelligence and a brain of their own. They were to prepare themselves to become wives and mothers, which were the extent of their entire lives. In the early and mid 20th century some women were starting to be brave and take a stand for themselves. The beginnings of feminism were starting to take its massive role in society. More and more women were getting educated and looking for employment opportunities that had power. Men no longer can be in control of everything. Men in the work place started to feel impotent. But women fed off each other and gave each other strength. They were not looking for just the secretarial jobs; they were taking some men’s jobs and being good at it. They were becoming police......

Write About the Ways Browning Tells the Story in My Last Duchess

...past Duchess, the possible murder of the Duchess and the yet to be new wife. The story being told is of the relationship between the Duke and former Duchess. Browning adopts numerous narrative techniques. Browning uses the form of a dramatic monologue to help the story progress. For instance 'That's my Last Duchess' shows that there is one speculator although there is an implied audience. The effect of this is that it shows that the poem tells a story that consists of much more than the words spoken by the one giving the monologue. To evaluate, the dramatic monologue makes it engaging with the reader. Additionally, Browning uses rhetorical questions as part of form to help tell the story. For example, 'Who'd stoop to blame..' is a clear example of the Duke trying to persuade his audience. The effect is that it reveals more about the Duke's character as the rhetorical question reinforces the impression that the Duke is haughty and self-important. To evaluate, Browning uses rhetorical questions effectively, revealing more about his character. Browning uses a lexical field of jealousy, ownership, artistry and love in order to aid the progression of the story. For instance, 'my Last Duchess painted on the wall' shows that the Duchess is objectified. The effect of this is that it allows the reader to sympathise with the Duchess and forces the reader to think of the Duke in a negative manner. To evaluate, Browning uses lexical fields clearly to allow the audience to make a......

On My Way to Learning Where the Comma Goes

...On My Way to Learning Where the Comma Goes I have always dabbled in writing but never seemed to finish a project. I love to write journals and express myself on paper because it somehow feels more real than talking to someone. As if my thoughts on paper make them more concrete and mine. There have been countless poems, and a couple very short stories. I did at one point attempt to write a novel, but the punctuation is what I would always get frustrated with and quit. I am here to attempt to stop quitting. My goals are achievable; confidence is an easy thing to come by. You just have to put in the work and learn what it is that you are missing. When it comes to writing, I tend to be a perfectionist. It has to be right, but I am not even sure what right is. My goal as a writer is to be more confident on what I have put to paper. I just really want to be a better writer, and to know that the comma I put in that spot is there for a reason. I also want to be a better communicator because there are times when I get that look from people that says “I know you are trying to say something, but I don’t know exactly what.” Communication is also extremely important in my career as an executive assistant. There are constantly letters and emails that my boss has me write, and he trusts me to sound and look competent. Our writing style and the mistakes that we make can have a negative effect on people’s impressions of us. I will admit that going back to school is scary, and at first was......

My Way

...My Way When I was younger, I was never allowed to go out or even play with kids in our neighborhood. I spent most of my days inside the house playing by myself, I’ve always envied those kids who were able to play and hang-out with their friends. I grew up to be a very shy girl. I was always awkward when I’m with my classmates because I wasn’t used to being around people. I was afraid of so many things like: talking to people and trying new things. During my second year in FORUM, my classmate and I were invited to attend an Economic Summit in Manila together with two other seniors. I really wanted to go, but I expected my parents to disagree, but unexpectedly without any hesitations my parents for once in my life, gave me a “Yes”. I was overjoyed because it was my first time to travel alone without my parents. As we arrived in Manila, I was astonished; I was like a typical province girl who was amazed by the wonders of the city. I saw all those huge, high- rise buildings and all those famous universities that I only hear about from the television. We spent a week in Manila for the Economic Summit. During those seven days, I was able to meet a lot of people from different backgrounds: Top students, Successful Researchers, Economists, Famous Politicians and I was also able to meet people from different countries like: Singapore,Korea and Indonesia. On our last day, we toured around to visit the famous universities. Touring around was like a dream come true,I......

...feelings have nothing to do with science of medicine. When the tables turn he discovers that he really doesn’t feel that way. In the beginning his ailments starts as a small, persistent cough. On one occasion he begins coughing and in the end coughs up blood. He goes to an otolaryngologist and discovers that there is a tumor and it doesn't work, he may need surgery. In that case, it's impossible to predict how his vocal cords will respond. He could lose the power of speech. This is devastating news, the doctor is left in a state of shock and disbelief as his treatment progresses, and he doesn't like how his own hospital treats him, as he wastes time in waiting rooms, tangles with the bureaucracy and is repelled by his doctor’s frigid bedside manner. For the first time, he grows close to a patient who has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, on a daily basis they meet to give each other support. Threatened with his own mortality, he turns to June not for romantic reasons but as a fellow traveler in the same path. Their scenes together are handled with quiet tact and gentleness. Although his wife desperately tries to break through to him, she can't reach him He continues to work at his own practice and finds that for the first time he actually, personally, cares about his patients. Some years ago I was admitted to the hospital after suffering from an attack in my gall bladder, I was so sick I didn’t think I would make it. While a patient at the hospital I remember......

A professional business letter shall definitely bring good and positive response for the business whereas an uncommon letter may not yield expected results and at times, buisnesses lose customers. Therefore, writing of letters in business language is very important which would impress customers and investors. For instance if a customer placed an order for 10 nos of laptops, the company should accept and address the letter as "we thank you for your order and we confirm the despatch of 10 nos of laptops" which means thanking the client is very important as the customer would be very pleased to read such lines in business letters. In case of payment request writing letters, the content of the letter should be quite explanatory indicating the need for payment. Use of harsh or rude language would cause further harm and damages the relation between company and clients. Therefore, while writing payment request letters...

...3 Contour integrals and Cauchy’s Theorem 3.1 Line integrals of complex functions Our goal here will be to discuss integration of complex functions f (z) = u + iv, with particular regard to analytic functions. Of course, one way to think of integration is as antidifferentiation. But there is also the definite integral. For a function f (x) of a real variable x, we have the integral b f (x) dx. In case f (x) = u(x) + iv(x) is a complex-valued function of a a real variable x, the definite integral is the complex number obtained by b integrating the real and imaginary parts of f (x) separately, i.e. b b u(x) dx + i a f (x) dx = a v(x) dx. For vector fields F = (P, Q) in the plane we have a the line integral P dx+Q dy, where C is an oriented curve. In case P and C Q are complex-valued, in which case we call P dx + Q dy a complex 1-form, we again define the line integral by integrating the real and imaginary parts separately. Next we recall the basics of line integrals in the plane: 1. The vector field F = (P, Q) is a gradient vector field g, which we can write in terms of 1-forms as P dx + Q dy = dg, if and only if C P dx+Q dy only depends on the endpoints of C, equivalently if and only if C P dx+Q dy = 0 for every closed curve C. If P dx+Q dy = dg, and C has endpoints z0 and z1 , then we have the formula dg = g(z1 ) − g(z0 ). P dx + Q dy = C C 2. If D is a plane region with oriented boundary ∂D = C, then P dx + Q dy = C D ∂Q ∂P − ∂x ∂y dxdy. 3. If D is a simply......

...René Descartes was a famous French mathematician, scientist, and philosopher. He was arguably known as the "Father of Modern Philosophy." Descartes published many works of mathematics and philosophy throughout his life. In one of his most important works, Meditations on First Philosophy, he added a number of arguments for and against skepticism. Skepticism is the doubt about the truth of something and that absolute knowledge is not possible. Like past famous philosophers before him, Plato and Parmenides, Descartes believed that "evidence from the senses was inadequate to prove the kind of justification required for a claim of knowledge." In the first of Rene Descartes Meditations, he provided arguments for the skeptical position. He realized that, based off his senses, he had accepted many false opinions as true and that everything he afterwards built upon his opinions could only be doubtful and uncertain. In his project, a quest for knowledge, he decided to disregard and discard all beliefs that were based on any evidence which could be doubted and proven as less than certain. He wanted to create a new, firm foundation. He decided to go about this project because he, like other famous philosophers, believed that much of what is believed is based on ones senses. Descartes noticed that his senses had often deceived him and it was prudent to trust completely in what has deceived a person even once. Aside from deceiving senses, Descartes was also reminded that everyone has......
