My primary thinking falls into the category of passive/defensive style, which based on the LSI results, represents self-protecting thinking and behavior that promotes the fulfillment of security needs through interaction with people and It is one of my security needs. The information that was provided by the result of my survey, I have found that my primary personal thinking style is avoidance with a score of 99%, and my secondary as my “backup” personal thinking is dependent and oppositional both with a score of 90%.
At my old job there were people trying to do evil things to get to the top and that is one of the reasons why I left so early my first job. Because I was young many took advantage of me, “bossy” people that would rather tell me to do tasks that where not related to my position as Human Resources Assistant. I do not see myself as an avoidance , in terms of personal life, but yet in terms of professional life, if I am not familiar with the work, and I am new at the company I tend to avoid situations that might get me fired for lack of evidence in my behalf. I once was working for a company a Bank one of the biggest and popular Bank back in my country. At one point I was tired of avoiding and to not have where to scream and whom to listen and would believe in me, because of that I left my job and began to work in another company. On the other hand I am completely different and in this time I believe and agree completely with my results, in terms of personal life. When I get to comfortable in a group of people I tend to tell what is on my mind in the best possible way even though I think that this group or person may not like what I am thinking. But I do not avoid situations where I want…...

Lifestyles Inventory Lsi Paper

...The Life Styles Inventory™ (LSI) Paper MGMT 591 Leadership and Organizational Behavior   Introduction The Life Styles Inventory™ (LSI) presents a series of questions in the areas of personal satisfaction, stress, effectiveness and quality of interpersonal relationships and then collates participant responses into a circumplex identifying 12 specific patterns or styles of thinking, behaving and interacting on a personal, management and leadership level--representing the essence of an individual's effectiveness. The circumplex provides a visual description of an individual's thinking and behaviour and then compares results with those of other individuals having taken the inventory in order to create self-awareness of strengths and weakness in order to create awareness of constructive behaviour. The norming base for the LSI represents nearly 10,000 individuals from various organizations, ages, levels of education and from both genders. The results plotted on the circumplex a divided into areas defined by higher order and lower order needs of satisfaction and security; and task-centered and people-centered orientations. Within these spheres are 12 separate styles (approval, conventional, dependent, avoidance, oppositional, power, competitive, perfectionistic, achievement, self-actualizing, humanistic-encouraging, and affiliative) which are subsequently grouped into three specific patterns (achievement/dependent; self-actualizing/avoidance;......

...Life Styles Inventory learning styles inventory test helps people understand better the behaviors and characteristics they posses that either help or hinder a person to become a successful leader. In this paper, I will discuss the results of my learning styles inventory test. I was pleased and a little shocked to see my results. I believe the test was accurate, however, I was surprised to find out the how high I scored in certain areas. According to the Life Styles Inventory results, my primary style is conventional, and my backup style is affiliative. I have always been referred to as an “old soul” and being conventional has always been my second nature. Being conventional means you that I appreciate rules and structure. I also am reliable and follow policies. Conventionalism and accounting seem to go hand in hand, so I feel confident I can use this personality trait to succeed in my career path. The results of the LSI test concluded that being affiliative was my backup style. Affiliative means that you have a genuine concern for others, and are friendly, and cooperative. I believe this result is a true representation of me. I am not one to cause waves unless absolutely necessary. I also show a lot of empathy towards others and I am always ready to listen to others concerns. I was a little surprised; however, to see how high I scored in dependent and oppositional. I have always considered myself very independent, and very rarely oppositional. I prefer to work on my own...

...LSI research paper Dennis Miao dmiao8@gmail.com MGMT 591 Professor Rick Lochner 09 September 2013 My primary (highest percentile score) personal thinking style according to my circumplex is Humanistic-Encouraging at the 1 o’clock position. And my “backup” (second highest percentile) personal thinking style shown on my circumplex is Achievement at the 11 o’clock position. My Humanistic-Encouraging and Achievement are both scored at 99%, therefore my primary and secondary thinking styles were established by looking at the self improvement plan section of my LSI. According to the LSI self development guide the Humanistic-Encouraging style can strengthen both knowledge of people and the quality of relationships. I can agree with the majority of the statements when it talks about how to become more Humanistic-Encouraging with my own life and work experiences. The LSI talks about thinking of qualities that I admire in someone who has made a difference in my life with my growth and development and recognizing the difference they have made in my life. I find that a lot of times when somebody has made that difference in my life I do my best to appreciate the positive difference they have made and try to take on the qualities that has made that person somebody that I admire. The LSI guide also states this style tends to ask others what they think. Thinking back on it, I do that quite often especially in the military. When I was in ROTC we were always told to let senior......

...MGMT 520- Legal, Political, and Ethical Dimensions of Business Keller Graduate School of Management May 15, 2014 I choose “Federal Employees Health Benefits Program Coverage for Certain Intermittent Employees”. The Office of Personnel Management controls this proposed regulation. I am pursuing my MBA with a concentration in accounting, but my second choice would have been HealthCare management so by choosing this regulation I will have a better understanding of the type of regulations currently in place or being proposed. At this time the regulation proposed does not have a direct impact on myself, nor the business I am in. I have attached a copy of the proposed regulation at then end of this assignment. The Office of Personnel Management is proposing to temporary adjust the Federal Employee Health Benefits Program regulations to make sure employees who work sporadic schedules are eligible to be enrolled in a health benefits under the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP). The Office of Personnel Management intentions on proposing this regulation is to allow agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency also known as FEMA to apply to OPM for “authorization to offer FEHBP coverage to intermittent employees engaged in emergency response functions.” The Office of Personnel Management is proposing to provide health coverage to those who work as temps/part time in emergency response functions. ...Memphis Latchison III Leadership and Organization GM591 LSI Paper GM 591 According to the LSI, my Primary personal thinking style is AFFILIATIVE at 93% and my Backup personal thinking styles are SELF-ACTUALIZING, HUMANISTIC-ENCOURAGING, and CONVENTIONAL. All of these three are at 90%. I agreed with these results. When I look at my personal and professional life, this is exactly how I see myself. With my family and friends, I am seen as an “encourager”, someone who is always believing in others and convincing them that they can do better. For example with my daughter, my wife tends to be the one to discipline her more and I tend to be the one that our daughter runs to after she has been disciplined! When our daughter wants some sympathy, she knows that “mommy” won’t give it to her but daddy will! An example of my AFFILIATIVE behavior can be seen in everything that I am involved in. I occupy a leadership role in my church, and through this it is imperative that I develop and maintain relationships with people. I firmly believe that any success that one achieves, it will be done through some type of “relationship”. As the saying goes, “No man is an island unto himself” and when preparation meets opportunity, it is because someone took the time to aid and help the individual through some type of relationship. I am strong believer of this, and I am positive that this is why I scored the highest with the AFFILIATIVE style. The style that I scored very high in that......

Lsi Project Paper

...MGMT 591 LSI Paper Life Style Inventory (LSI) November 9 Part 1 Personal Thinking Styles: Upon my completion of the LSI survey, I have identified my primary and secondary (backup) thinking styles. They are conventional and self-actualizing. My results in the conventional style of thinking have me ranked in the 90th percentile with a raw score of 22. This is my primary thinking style. The conventional thinking style describes individuals who are pretty much set in their ways of doing things. They will tend to have a fixed and unchanging daily routine which they are comfortable with as long as it does not change very much or too often. Conventional thinkers tend to conform to the general rules that are around them, they seldom dispute these rules, and they prefer to follow others orders. A conventional thinker usually does not attract much attention to themselves and will work hard at ‘staying under the radar’ in order to remain in their own comfort zone. I do have many of the qualities of a conventional thinker. So, I can agree with the results from the LSI survey as they characterize me with the conventional thinking style. Having the personality of someone who does not like to change his daily routine and who prides himself with being able to do exactly what is expected both at home and at work are just two of the...

Currently the CERCLA requires that the National Contingency Plan (NCP) include a list of national priorities of the known releases or threatened releases of hazardous substance, pollutants or contaminants throughout the United States of America. The National Priorities List (NPL) is what the populated list of threats is placed on. The EPA utilizes the NPL in order to know which sites to further investigate and the extent of the site’s environmental risk. Once the EPA completes an investigation they are able to determine if the site has to provide any CERCLA-financed actions to include payments to SARA. ...School of Management GM 591: Leadership and Organizational Behavior Professor: Michael Belak Life Style Inventory Human behavior is one of the most complicated issues, hundreds of thousands researches had been held to understand it. Human behavior is influence by culture, attitude, emotions, value, ethnic and other genetics factors. Most of the people knew that there is no perfection especially when talking about human behavior; also it’s very difficult to measure or evaluate it. Many people may be able to describe their strengths, but they do not like to talk about their weaknesses. On the other hand, people who can objectively identify their strengths and weaknesses. ...RUNNING HEAD: LSI Paper I am charged with the task of completing the Life Styles Inventory Survey to give a self-description of my thinking styles. The purpose of this assignment is to determine the impact that the personal styles have on my management style and to identify which one of my thinking styles may be reducing my overall effectiveness. After completing the survey, my circumplex shows that my primary thinking style is the “Conventional Style”(4 o’clock) and my backup thinking style is the “Power Style” (8 o’clock). I agree with the results of the conventional thinking style, but, I do not fully agree with the results of the power thinking style. According to the LSI results, the conventional thinking style is one that measures our inclination to act in a compliant way. Conventional thinkers worry about adhering to rules and established procedures. According to the LSI results, when we depend on on established procedures in determining how we do things, we risk losing our sense of uniqueness and individuality. I would have to agree with the results of this survey that I am a conventional thinker. As a child, my parents had very strict household rules that, simply, were not to my benefit to break. Therefore, I often abided by the rules. I think this is why I tend to do things strictly by the book. Doing things by the book gives me a sense of security in knowing that I followed the policy, in case something goes wrong. As a conventional thinker, I......
