The Orthopedic practice already has a group of client services that includes major surgery; the decision to add rehabilitative services to their practice needs to be evaluated carefully. Marketing intelligence to determine if adding rehabilitative services to the groups orthopedic client services should include several factors. One way of collecting information to help them to determine if adding this service will be feasible would be to reach out to the doctors who are referring patients to them. Motivating current patients referring doctors to give them information on the referring doctors customer base that might give them information on how many patients they refer for orthopedic treatment and for rehabilitation services for injuries. They could also set up a customer survey to gather information from current and former patients to gain their input in regards to rehabilitation services. Marketing intelligence should also include information gathered from government sources. The census bureau can provide an in-depth look at population demographics and family structure. This information could provide age related demographics that would be relatable to rehabilitation services. For example, if there is a large teenage population, they could provide rehabilitative services for sports related injuries. If the demographics show a large older population for the area, this might also mean a feasible business in rehabilitation due to the number of injuries most people have as they age and also injuries that are age related, such as falls in the elderly. If there is a large teen population, it would also mean that there is a large middle age population of parents, which could also be in need of rehabilitative services. Intelligence is having the ability and being capable of acquiring and applying knowledge and skills. A person’s intelligence can be measured by an IQ (Intelligence Quotient) test. An IQ test measures a person’s mental performance in fluid intelligence, memory, processing speed, and quantitative reasoning. An Intelligence Quotient is a number representing a person’s reasoning ability compared to the statistical average for their age. The most common and most accurate IQ tests are the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale and the Stanford-Binet test. The Stanford-Binet test was the very first IQ test, designed by French psychologist, Alfred Binet, in the early 1900’s. The Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale was developed soon after by David Wechsler, an American psychologist. Although there are many other online IQ tests available today, they are not as accurate as the official Wechsler and Stanford-Binet tests. Ninety-five percent of people have an IQ between seventy and one hundred thirty. A lot of people are either just above one hundred thirty or just below seventy. Only five percent of the population have either extremely high IQs, above one hundred forty, or extremely low IQs, below seventy. ...After taking the Multiple Intelligences Questionnaire I learned that my top three intelligences are; Musical, visual, and verbal. Each of those seems to fit my personality. I use each of them in everyday activities such as sitting in class, listening to someone at work, or even just studying at home alone. Music is in my life every day, whether I’m playing guitar or just listening to music. Listening to music while I study is very effective in helping me remember crucial details. I remember writing a song to study for finals, I would just sing it in my head when I forgot something and because of that I aced my final. Also I comprehend things better when I listen to music; it clears my head of anything else and allows me to focus. I cannot have the music too loud though that tends to distract me. Being musical may not help me professionally unless the work comes home with me mostly because it would be unprofessional to listen to music while working.
