If I want to succeed in life, first I need to be a hardworking person. From getting a job to excelling in school I need to make an effort. Also people will trust me more for this. As a result they will give me more leniency. If you want something I need to be proactive and take the initiative.

One area where this is particularly important is academics. If I work hard in school it will result in me getting into the college I want and getting good grades. For example math doesn’t come naturally to me so I’ve had to study and practice to get better. Also if I get my assignments done then I will also have more free time.

I also need to be determined in any job I get have. Employers are looking for people who they can trust to be responsible, hard workers. If I can show them that I can efficiently get your work done, then I will be more likely to get promotions and raises. Businesses also want hardworking people to fill their management positions.

Hard work is also essential in sports. This was my fourth year playing football and I loved it. I want to try out for the high school team next year, but since I’ve only played four years I need a lot of practice. I’ve had to work very hard to get to improve my skills.

In conclusion, hard work is the only way to excel in life, especially in Sports, academics, and at a job. You can’t go through life assuming that people will do your work for you or that you’re not equipped to do something. You need to take charge and work…...

My Summer Vacation

...a on a trip too. My father had his vacation that same month and our whole family was over-joyed. We decided to spend the month in Kandy at one of our relatives’ house. It was the most AWESOME Vacation we ever had. Their house was soooo beautiful and their garden, like a paradise. The house was small, but that was another reason why it was fun, because I had to share rooms with the son at that house who was the same age as me. We were so mischievous and were up to all kinds of fun. At nights after our parents had told us to go to sleep, we would secretly play video games or fighting games, or pillow fights, or act like we are camping until the late hours. His name was Mustafa. Anyways together Mustafa and I went on bike rides and helped his mother in the garden. He loved gardening and he taught me how to plant a seed and how to ensure it has the right conditions for growth. I used to think gardening was just a tiresome task, but when I did it at Kandy I discovered it was some type of meditation. There is something beautiful about working in the fresh air in the silence. Mustafa gave me a rose cutting and taught me how to plant it. It was also fun when it got messy. Together we used to throw mud on his elder sister and run away, leaving her really fired up and blasting. When our parents got a free time, we visited all the famous places in Kandy and around. We first visited the majestic Dalanda maligawa. It was unbelievably beautiful. Surprisingly Mustafa, my brother, his......

...Esala Perahera (the festival of the tooth relic) is a grand festival of Esala held in Kandy. It is very majestic with elegant costumes of the participents and the elephants. Esala perahara holds in July or August .It has become a unique symbol of Sri Lanka. It is a Buddhist festival consisting of dances and nicely decorated elephants. There are fire-dances, whip-dances, Kandyan dances and various other cultural dances. The elephants are usually decorated with lavish costumes. The festival ends with the traditional 'diya-kepeema'. History The Esala procession is believed to be a combination of two separate but interconnected "Peraheras"– The Esala and Dalada. The Esala Perahera which is thought to date back to the 3rd century BC, was a ritual enacted to request the gods for rainfall. The Dalada Perahera is believed to have begun when the Sacred Tooth Relic of the Buddha was brought to Sri Lanka from India during the 4th century B.C.The Tooth Relic was brought to Sri Lanka by Princess Hemamala & Prince Dantha. Modern Perahera The Modern Perahera dates back to the reign of the Kandyan King Kirthi Sri Rajasinghe (1747–1781). During these times, the Tooth Relic was considered private property of the King and the public never got a chance to worship it. However, King Rajasinghe decreed that the Relic be taken in procession for the masses to see and respect. After the Kandyan Kingdom fell to the British in 1815, the custody of the Relic was handed over to the Maha Sanga......

They study the science behind a crime, and find evidence that can link a person to the crime committed. Criminalists are employed at sheriffs' departments, crime laboratories, government agencies, medical examiners' offices, colleges and universities, private companies, and law enforcement agencies. Criminology is an area of sociology that focuses on the study of crimes and their causes, effects, and social impact. It is the job of a criminologist to figure out why a criminal committed a crime, as well as, finding ways to prevent them from committing the crime again. Criminologists typically work at colleges and universities organizing and conducting research and teaching classes on corrections, juvenile justice, law enforcement administration, criminal ethnography, drug abuse and addiction, theoretical criminology, and other related courses. One analyzes the crime, while the other analyzes the criminal. The job of a criminalist doesn’t appeal to me. I am not the kind of person that can spend hours analyzing information. It seems like a cold, non-feeling type of job unless, of course, you are Abby from NCIS. Whether working for a private company investigating inside the company, or for the government,......
