IS535 – COURSE PROJECT PROPOSAL
THE INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CHOSEN: VIRTUAL MEETINGS
TO BE IMPLEMENTED ON: INTER ASIA MINERALS AND ENERGY (INDIA) PVT.LTD. AND ITS SISTER CONCERN STARLET EXIM LLC.
DONE BY: ORPHA DAVIS AND DHIVYAA DHANASEKAR
BUSINESS PROBLEM STATEMENT:
Inter Asia Minerals and energy Pvt. Ltd. was formed as a trading company for heavy construction equipment, iron ore, metal scrap and other minerals. This company was formed in India and it had major suppliers from the United States of America. To make the buying of material and transport more efficient, Inter Asia decided to set up a new business in USA as Starlet Exim LLC. The parent company in India has 10 employees working in India and the sister company in USA has 3 employees working here. The employees who work in India are located in various states among who, 1 person is in-charge of marketing and 1 is in-charge of shipping documentation, 1 is in-charge of the inland transportation, 1 is in-charge of the accounting for the company and so on. Due to the distribution of workers all over the country, the trading was not done properly and the work is not being followed up or updated on time. Sometimes, the shipment gets delayed due to documentation or sometimes the accountant delays the payment without any knowledge of the dates of purchase. There are no modern technologies used by the company which may help these improper work and disorder. Moreover, having a sister concern in USA now, has increased the tensions a lot as the employees there need to reach the employees here in order to keep track of the shipments or the trade work but due to consistent power failures and other technical problems, they are not able to follow up timely. If the virtual meetings technology could be used in this company, it would rightly fit in the requirement and would help in solving the problem.

...CMGT 410 Week 1 Project proposal You have been hired by a large company with branch offices around the country to assist with rollout of a new companywide compliance system. While initially the focus was on implementation of the technology, it was found that success will require at least 10 hours of training for all managers across the country on both the use of the new platform as well as a host of new compliance policies being introduced. Of the options discussed, it was generally agreed than the training should be hands-on and conducted in person at a central location. This will obviously require getting organizational buy in as not all managers are going to be willing to commit to taking time out from their normal responsibilities just for some training. In addition, such large scale centralized training has not been done before by this company; therefore, the CEO wants feedback from participants to evaluate the effectiveness of any training sessions. As a result, your manager has given you the responsibility to develop an outline for a proposed project that would meet this upcoming need. Submit a 2- to 3-page memo that does the following: * Names the project * Briefly describes the project * Identifies potential stakeholders directly or indirectly involved * Specifies the overall objective and any outcomes for this project * Details how success will be evaluated * Highlights what is needed to ascertain the measurable organizational value......

Project Proposal

...Provisional title The provisional title of the following project proposal is “LSA Logistics UK innovative shipping of artworks” Hypothesis for the project This project aims to investigate whether there is an appropriate field in United Kingdom for the idea of innovative shipping of artworks to grow up and be successful. According to Valerie J. Easton and John H. McColl (1997) there are several kinds of hypothesis such as: null, alternative, simple and composite hypothesis. In this particular project I choose the alternative hypothesis as a tool for investigation. In other words this means that I will try to explain and prove that the new idea of shipping service will be successful and at the same time that it will provide a lot of advantages for the company LSA Logistics UK not only when it comes to finance returns, but when it comes to gaining new loyal clients and excellent reputation, too. Valerie J. Easton and John H. McColl (1997) claim that alternative hypothesis should include a proper investigation, which conclusion should explain why the newly invented product or service will be beneficial and needed for a sufficient number of potential clients. To make an alternative hypothesis a person should have objects or services to compare. In this case I have a great deal of competitors, which do offer this type of service. So at the end of the investigation I should be able to conclude that the new highly improved service of LSA Logistics UK is better than the services......

Is535 Final Course Project

...your business can vary according to your needs, but can include project managers, business consultants, customer experience experts, testers and of course, architects and developers. For example, manufacturing companies often have an executive as project director, a steering group composed of other executives with skills or vested interest in seeing it accomplished. However, most people who run small online businesses tend to combine positions. Some of the main things to focus on when implementing an online business are management support, charter, priorities, project planning phase, project justification, project task plan, communications plan, education plan, budget/funding, managing an agenda, define project rules, issues lists, and activity list management. Management Support: Having a support team is always important in running an online business, whether single handedly or with a large company. This support should be reflected in the wording and visibility of the project charter. Because of the wide scope and number of functional areas involved in a full business system implementation, it’s mandatory to gain understanding at the executive level for what must be accomplished, why, and how it is to be done. Charter: “The “Charter” is a clear mandate for the project team, generally consisting of mission, objectives, scope, direction and authority. It is an agreement between top management and project management. For optimal results, it needs to be repeatedly......
