...Charli Davis Donna Folmar Med Law 101 May 7, 2012 Researchers believe that stem cells hold the key to incurable diseases such as, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, diabetes and many others. The benefits of stem cell research have such a great outcome that it out weighs the ethical issues at hand (In Stem Cell Information. Bethesda, MD: National Institutes of Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services,2012). Pro’s Critics against stem cell research argue, that the ethical issues do not justify the benefits, that a life is a life and that should never be compromised (The real Promise of Stem Cell Research, Dr. David Prentice: HeathDigestNews.com).What these critics do not understand, is that, in the future stem cell research can allow scientists to test a number of drugs and medicines with out carrying out tests on humans and animals. The drug can be tested on a population of cells directly (stem cells.nih.gov/policy/2009guidelines.html). Funding President Bush announced federal funding for stem cell research in August 2001, six years later in 2007 a banned had been placed on the funding bringing most researchers to a hault. In March of 2009, President Barack Obama, lifted the ban on federal funding for stem cell research (www.action bioscience.org/biotech/chapman.html,2011). Many critics that are against stem cell research became angry that their tax dollars where going towards funding for something they thought unethical. If the......

...a list node is a distinct object. Linked lists are among the simplest and most common data structures. The principal benefit of a linked list over a conventional array is that the list elements can easily be inserted or removed without reallocation or reorganization of the entire structure because the data items need not be stored contiguously in memory or on disk, while an array has to be declared in the source code, before compiling and running the program. Linked lists allow insertion and removal of nodes at any point in the list, and can do so with a constant number of operations if the link previous to the link being added or removed is maintained during list traversal. Singly Linked List: Singly linked lists contain nodes which have a data field as well as a next field, which points to the next node in line of nodes. Operations that can be performed on singly linked lists include insertion, deletion and traversal. Finding and Deleting Specified Link: Finding algorithm Beginning from the head, 1. Check, if the end of a list hasn't been reached yet; 2. Do some actions with the current node, which is specific for particular algorithm; 3. Current node becomes previous and next node becomes current. Deleting 4. Save reference to link 5. Delete it, save first to old next 6. Return deleted link Operation on Singly Link List: * Search * Insert * Delete Doubly Linked List Different from a singly linked list, a doubly linked......

...As you know I have been working to analyze the relevant costs in regards to the quality variations we’ve been encountering for our Ply Carrier project. Though all costs types apply in some respect, you will find that some costs are more relevant to our current situation than others. You will find the three costs (appraisal, prevention, and failure) detailed below: For the most part, we already have the applicable quality measures that relate to our Appraisal costs in place. A quality inspection is completed every time a Ply Carrier is completed, this inspection is done with the proper updated form, equipment, and by someone other than the person who produced the original part. Though these items are done with regulated consistency, there is the continued possibility of human error. The periodical analysis of the quality assurance forms could provide us additional insight into our production process. As of right now, we do not use the QA forms for anything other than an insight if an external failure occurs; evaluating these forms to gain a broader understanding of our products random and non-random variations could reduce costs in the long run. Preventative costs are more relative to our current production process. Though we have minor policies in place that prevent defects from appearing during the production process, they are not regulated diligently and sometimes do not occur at all. Out of the 15 materials that are used to create a Ply Carrier, only the Upper......

...Why building damage is an important community issue? Building damage is a community issue for multiple reasons: 1. If no one is found guilty, the entire floor/dorm has to split the damage costs equally 2. Threatens the safety of people living in the dorms and makes people feel scared of certain areas of the dorm. 3. Causes maintenance crews to spend valuable time fixing things that should not have been broken in the first place. Crews should be spending time upgrading our campuses rather then fixing things that were already nicely put in place. Why it is important to come forward when building damage is caused? It is important to come forward when building damage is caused because: 1. If you don’t come forward, everyone in the entire dorm will get hit with a fee for something they had nothing to do. For example, if you break a washer and don’t come forward, everyone will have to pay for a new washer even if they haven’t even used that specific washer before. 2. Also, if you don’t come forward you will always have that monkey on your back that you caused people to pay for something they never did. 3. If you don’t come forward, eventually evidence can arise that you broke the specific object. Your punishment will be significantly worse and your reputation will be destroyed. Community billing charges and procedures To expand upon building charges and procedures: 1. Once a situation arises, everyone involved will be processed and......

...Chapter 6- Health Care Marketing 1. According to Buchbinder & Shanks, (2012) marketing is defined as the process of creating, communicating, delivering, and exchanging offerings that have value for customers, clients, and society as a whole (Buchbinder & Shanks, 2012, p. 96.). The main principles of marketing are to satisfy customers, target the 'right' customers, facilitate exchange relationships, stay ahead of competitors and enhance profitability. These principles are essential for managers to understand and satisfy their customers in the health care industry. The person receiving care must be pleased with the services received from the health care facility, and the health care facility must likewise be satisfied with the financial reward received in the exchange. The hospital that adopts the key components of the marketing concept is likely to identify patients needs, provide products and services at an acceptable price and stress the benefits through promotion. The most important reason to satisfy customers seeking medical service is that they will become repeat customers or users of the facility. Consumers want to feel they are getting the most value for their money, and this includes the health care industry. Therefore, marketing mainly consists of satisfying target customers while striving to seek their loyalty and consumption. 2. In the past, healthcare organization were slow to incorporate marketing because many felt it was an inappropriate and......

...Health care economics have changed so much during the course of history. While a lot has to do with the evolutionary changes that the U.S. underwent since inception, the major factors that have influenced change in healthcare economic are medical care and technology. It is important to understand healthcare economic history, and the cash flow system, managers are able to use this information to help prepare the company for its future. It is very important to remember that the drive behind health care economics is money, money helps run health care organization and it’s the key to success “Who pays for what has changed dramatically in the past 60 years. Whereas in the past, the majority of individuals paid their medical bills with private funds, today insurance companies and other third parties cover the majority of payments, with individuals paying only a small fraction of the total flow of funds with private money” (Getzen & Moore, 2007, p. 3, para. 1). History shows that physicians would trade medical services for non-money items (such as cotton, grain, and livestock) as forms of payment if a patient was unable or couldn’t afford the services. As the US advanced in historical factors such as the World Wars, the Great Depression, and technology, a new system had to be used to help the U.S. population with medical services. According to Melcher (2010), health cooperatives were in place to aid Americans with purchasing medical services during the Great......

...because he valued them as his business partners and he wanted them to know that they were directly involved in the success of the business. Introduction This paper aim at analyzing the concept of entrepreneurial leadership .Before starting our analysis, two important concepts need to be addressed: Leadership and Entrepreneurship. Leadership is directing or inspiring people to attain organizational goals (Boone and Kurtz, 2011). An entrepreneur is a person who seeks a profitable opportunity and takes the necessary risks to set up and operate a business (Boone and Kurtz, 2011).
