HSA 520 Week 1 dq 1&2,
1-
The healthcare industry is evolving, thanks to policy changes, societal shifts and technological advances. From a practical viewpoint, the evolution of HMIS over the past several decades has been largely driven by strategic, tactical, and operational applications of various information technology (IT) and advance systems concepts for healthcare services delivery within an individual, group, and more appropriately; an organizational perspective (Tan & Payton, Pp. 7). However Health Information Technology (HIT) is a small of this ever changing industry. It is an intensifying and fluctuating field in today’s state-of-the-art world. Ample advances in technology have led to better-quality systems and devices for patient care. It is essential for today’s patients and health care providers. Without an adequate form of compiling information on any given patient that follows his

I want to suggest integrated personal health records (PHRs). PHRs offer a substantial possibility to motivate transformational changes in health care delivery and self-care by patients. Integrated PHRs promote active, ongoing patient relationship in their care delivery and decision making. Personal health records (PHRs) are tools that can toughen consumers’ capacity to vigorously manage their own health and health care. While the capabilities of PHRs fluctuate ominously, they characteristically include provisions to capture information about a person’s diagnoses, medications, allergies, lab test results, immunization records, and other personal health information. Many PHRs also offer connections to convenience tools like requesting appointments, requesting prescription…...

Week 1 Dq 1: Due Day 2

...Week 1 DQ 1: Due Day 2- Tuesday, January 15th Please post a 150-300 word response to the following DQ by Day 2. Remember to incorporate course readings! If you were to introduce yourself by the ethnic, racial, or other identities to which you feel you belong, what would you say? Do you consider yourself a “typical” American? Why or why not? If I would introduce myself by ethnic, racial, and other identities, I would began with that I am a black, bisexual, female, mother, and educator. Now this shows that I am anything but the typical American. I am the part of American society that has been oppressed for many years. At one time or another, please, please don't anyone in the class take this the wrong way, but I would be calling a large part of my class mates master, using different bathrooms than you, your family, and your friends. Taking care of your children while barely seeing my own, cleaning your homes, cooking your food, and while the whole time prying that I make it back to my side of town safely and whole. Sitting at the back of the bus, using hand me downs that should go to the trash and not to a person, and never ever would I be with the man i am with now not only due to his family but also due to mine. Then in another time my own father would of had the right to put me down like a dog due to I was not a son born to him, or now then there would be a time that I would of had to work as a Lady of The Night so that I could bring in any money to feed myself...

...Week 4 – DQ 1 DQ1. What are the Five Pillars of Islam? Why are they significant for the life of Muslims? The Five Pillars of Islam are creed (Shahadah), prayer (Salat), charity to the poor (Zakat), fasting during Ramadan (Sawm) and pilgrimage to Mecca (Hajj). These five pillars of Islam are significant for the life of Muslims because its part of their faith and it’s also the basis of the Muslim life. The first pillar is the creed that they stand by and believe which is “There is no God but Allah, and Muhammad is his messenger” (Molloy, 2010, p. 431). This is a testimony of faith and it is the most important pillar. The second pillar is prayer, Muslims perform 5 prayer a day (before dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset and nighttime) and they can pray almost anywhere because it only takes a couple of minutes. The third pillar is charity to the poor, in order have a more balance society Muslims are required to donate a certain percentage of their total income to the poor and in their everyday life they are expected to help out the poor by acts of generosity and charity. The fourth pillar is fasting during Ramadan which means that every year in the month of Ramadan all Muslims abstain from food, drink and sexual relations from dawn until sundown as a form of purification. The last pillar is the annual pilgrimage to Mecca and it is an obligation once in a lifetime and the only individual that are not expected to do this pilgrimage are the ones that can’t afford to do so or......

...1. What is management? Why is management necessary? How do you think management has evolved? To me management is the motivation, leadership and supervision of a workforce or work group. It’s being able to build a team environment where can help develop my team and coach and mentor them to reach new goals. Management is necessary to deliver the visions, goals and missions from our Chief Executive Officers to our frontline employees. Also you are to ensure that the messages being delivered are clear and concise. According to our book we have different levels of management and it seems that all of these levels are important to accomplish our overall goals. However, I would say that one of the most important would have to be our frontline managers. They are the most important I feel because they are the first responders and motivators to our employees. These managers have to be very flexible and balanced. They get information and objectives from the top and also have the issues coming up from the bottom. They are graded usually on how well they can perform and meet the goals laid out from the mid-level managers and at the same time have to keep the focus of their frontline employees on track to meet these goals. This is where I feel that management has evolved over the past few decades. A mangers duty is no longer just to assign the work, set the deadlines and discipline the employees. They need to be good coaches and engage their workforce. Managers have to come up with......

...situations, or visiting social networking sites such as Facebook. I could start working on my school work whenever I have time instead of wasting my time doing unproductive activities. I could answer discussion questions, read the materials, work ahead, or work on my assignments due at the end of the week. If I learn to use my time wisely it will help me avoid unnecessary stress caused by me wasting time. The second strategy that will help me the most in life and in school would be the eighth strategy. The eighth strategy is getting in touch with my emotions. If I get in touch with my emotions then I can understand them better. If I work on knowing why I feel the way I feel, and handling my emotions that I am feeling then I will be able to correct the negative thinking that is brought on my not knowing or understanding my emotions. If I can correct my thinking, it will be able to help me concentrate more on my schoolwork. Paul, R. (2000). Psy475 (Week 1 Dq 2)

...PSY475 (Week 1 DQ 2) Compare and contrast reliability and validity? Going back to Plato’s cave wall of shadows, if we all held up mirrors and reflected a particular point outside the cave would we all see the same thing and further if we were to take another peek an hour later would we see the same thing (reliability). Second is the subject of validity. My second class at college was a critical thinking class. I loved it. I can remember studying syllogisms: All animals are big, all big things are slow, therefore all animals are slow. This syllogism is valid, but not true (i.e. the conclusion reasonable follows from the premises). The problem with this syllogism is that the premises are untrue. They are both global absolutes, which are almost always false or at the very least not completely true in all instances. It is the same with psychological testing: the conclusion must reasonably flow from the facts gathered during experimentation. It would seem that validity has to do more with the interpretation of test results, than the test results themselves. Referring to the hypothesis as an elucidation of causality, validity is the bridge by which the numerical quantification of numbers is verified as it is translated into causation. It is a hindsight mechanism. It is used to verify the applicability of the test results to the hypothetical conclusion of causation. Both are equally important I think. If not, then the test might give great scores one time and not the next or the......

For example you just failed a test, instead being negative with yourself and thinking you didn't try enough or you're not smart enough remind yourself to try harder and that you will get a good grade on the next one. By replacing these negatives with a positive thought you will keep the right attitude about most situations. If you stay positive and push away the negative thoughts it will be hard but you are able to keep a good attitude with everything. There also will be disadvantages with having a positive only mindset. Yes, it is acceptable to be positive the majority of the time but sometimes you may need a little negativity. Going back to week one, if you are always staying positive this can impact your emotional health. A family member has passed away there is no way you can be positive and not upset. You will think about the negative thoughts as well and this is a good example of not always having to be positive. If you did not have any negative thoughts over a situation like this you would not be emotionally healthy. Overall, keeping a positive attitude about everything and not letting the small bumps of life take you down you will be able to overcome many of life’s struggles....

It is the responsibility of the Human Resource manager to provide the necessary guidance and advice to help the managers be successful in working with their employees. It is the managers responsibility to follow the policy and procedures in not only hiring the personnel that will fit their team, but to provide evaluations, coach, mentor, train, document, and provide the necessary assistance to help their employees be successful and productive.
