Good morning everybody. My name is D. I am going to talk about topic 36 page in Maket Leader Book. My topic is “Which examples of a great business ideas do you know? (And Why?” )
Then I’ve divided my presentation into 2 parts. In the first part (First), I will answer the first question “What (one) examples of great business ideas do you know?” and give you some information about that. (In the second part ) Then, I will answer the second question by mentioning three reasons.
I think my presentation is quite long but it’s very exciting, so please (you should) listen carefully ( or pay attention) in order to answer 3 questions at the end of my talk.
Let’s begin.
All over the world, (a lot of) Many people was successful in businesss and became the multimillionaire very fast. Of course, every successful business starts with a great idea. Many ideas may be simply (or) and (cái nào cũng dc :P ) silly, but it make powerful effects and get a huge success .Today, I want to tell you about one of the (great) best business ideas, (that is) the PET ROCK. Do you know anything about it ???
Pet Rocks were originated in California by Gary Dahl. In April 1975, Dahl was in a listening to his friends complain about their pets. This gave him the idea for the perfect "pet": a rock. A rock would not need to be fed, walked, bathed, groomed and would not die, become sick, or be disobedient. He said they were to be the perfect pets, and joked about it with his friends. However, he eventually took the idea seriously, he spent two weeks writing the Pet Rock Training Manual in order to have a happy relationship with your pet rocks. To accompany the book, Dahl decided to actually create a Pet Rock. He went to a builder's supply store in San Jose and found the most expensive rock in the Rosarita Beach Stone, which was a uniform size, rounded gray pebble. He packed the stone in excelsior in a…...

The High God

...Americans personify things in nature as spiritual. They believe that there is one Supreme God, just as those who practice African American religions. In Native American religions the High God is separate from the spirits of Earth. Very similar to African beliefs, Native Americans believe there are lesser deities called to on a regular basis and that the High God is only present in situations of great emergency. Most Native American religions practice this belief of the High God. (30-31) Some Native American religious groups think of the High God as a personal God. They call this a Great Spirit. They believe that the Great Spirit presents itself in the form of humans, items in nature, and things in the spiritual world. These personal Gods are of divine and sacred power. Some believe that anything that has an influence over life is a Great Spirit. (30-31) The role of ancestors is an element of religions that played a special importance. Our textbook explains ancestor veneration as the act of honoring ones’ ancestors. Both African and Native American religions practice ancestor veneration. In African religion ancestors are the most important and most recognized spirits. Africans believe that the deceased continue to live in the afterlife. Unlike the High God as mentioned before, ancestors take a great interest in everyday life of the humans left on Earth. Ancestor spirits watch over people’s lives and participate in affairs that take......

High Stakes

...Jessie Long Professor Chopalli College Writing I 19 November 2012 High Stakes Men and woman have strived to understand one another for many years. Men have made great efforts to grasp the inner workings of the female mind. While women have struggled to understand why men behave the way that they do. Both members of each gender might do whatever they can in order to solve the mystery of one another. However, it is not quite as complicated as each sex thinks. The behavior of men and women in relationships can all be boiled down to what each sex has at stake when it comes to sexual activity. While both men and women have something at stake Edward O. Wilson says in “The Fitness of Human Nature” that women have more at stake when it comes to sexual activity (147). Since women do have more at stake than men, women tend to be more particular when searching for a mate than men, women have a different view of sex than men, and women are more timid when it comes to initiating sexual intercourse than men. Each male and female has an idea of what they want in their perfect significant other. A woman might be looking for a man that is tall, strong, and handsome. A man might be looking for woman that is blonde, young and beautiful. The reason for having that idea of the “perfect guy or girl” can be explained by natural selection. In my psychology class I learned that having these certain mating preferences is caused by the fact that this will lead to the likelihood of sending......

The High Life

...Jack Joaquin ENG101-L11 Essay #4 October 28, 2013 The High Life The use of marijuana, smoked or eaten, can produce adverse physical, mental, emotional, and behavioral effects. It can impair short-term memory, judgment, and distort perception (Marijuana Use). Marijuana use is very controversial, and is viewed by most as negative, but has proved to be beneficial as well. All ages and races use marijuana, and contrary to popular belief, it can become addicting (Marijuana Tips for Teens). Marijuana smoke, like that of tobacco, consists of a toxic mixture of gases and small particles, many of which are known to damage the lungs. In addition, marijuana smokers generally inhale more deeply and hold their breath longer than tobacco smokers, the lungs are exposed longer to carcinogenic smoke. Someone who smokes marijuana regularly may have many of the same problems that tobacco smokers do, such as daily cough and phlegm build up, more chest illnesses, and a greater risk of lung infections. Even the slightest of marijuana use can cause a burning sensation in the mouth and throat, followed with a heavy cough (NIDA Drug Facts). Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol or THC is the main active ingredient in marijuana, creating many of its known side effects. The effects of smoking marijuana are instantaneous. THC passes quickly from the lungs into the bloodstream, which then carries the chemical to the brain. The effects of smoked marijuana can last 1 to three hours. If......

Aim High

...Aim High Allison Reid Saint Joseph’s College William Zinsser’s essay, “The Right to Fail,” is a dangerous article for young people to read. It discusses how he believes that children and adolescents have too much pressure on them to succeed by attaining an education. Zinsser goes on to send the message that it is okay to quit and become a free thinker. He states, in the beginning of it, that, “for the young, dropping out is often a way of dropping in” (Zinsser, 1967). I think that to encourage the youth of tomorrow to not pursue an education is irresponsible. I disagree with Zinsser because I have been that “drop out” and it is a hard road to follow. This great country we live in provides everyone the opportunity to succeed. Zinsser is trying to downplay “go get ‘em” attitude that Americans are so well known for. He is encouraging people to be just average. We are nothing without a dream, a goal, or a vision of our future that is better. Zinsser says, “We need mavericks and dissenters and dreamers far more than we need junior vice-presidents, but we paralyze them by insisting that every step be a step up to the next rung of the ladder” (Zinsser, 1967). This statement from Zinsser says to me that it is more important to dream than to do. I think it is important to dream about what you want to do, set your goals, and go out and achieve them. An education is a great way to do this. From the day you start kindergarten, a framework for success is being......

High School

...High School Years Those four years of high school can be quite difficult. They can either be the easiest years of your life, or the hardest. It all depends on how you make it out to be. High school is so complicated when it comes down to your social life. Nowadays teenagers are bullies. They try to fit in with the “in-crowd”. They usually don’t care about hurting someone’s feelings, so that can cause a teenager to feel out of place. No one wants to go to a place 5 days out of the week, if they feel as if they are unwelcomed and are going to get made fun of. Nowadays, high school is driving teenagers overboard. High school can also make you feel out of place by your grades. Making D’s and F’s can make you not want to come. You feel as if the teacher takes you as a joke, doesn’t think you serious, as if he thinks you don’t want to succeed. Most kids that make bad grades tell their parents it’s the teachers fault. They always use the same lines that every teenager that’s failing terribly says; “My teacher doesn’t like me” or “My teacher doesn’t even know anything” when really it is the teenagers reason they are failing. The teacher doesn’t give you a grade, he or she gives you what you earn. Feeling out of place in high school can also have a positive effect; not wanting to go all the time can make a teenager work harder to graduate, strive harder to get all their credits, and even graduate early. Maybe even make straight A’s! High school is very stressful at times,......

High School

...There is much discussion about whether a high school curriculum should be career based or geared more towards college preparation. In the USA the educational system is organized in a way that allows students enrolled in high school to get the education that will mostly suit their ambitions and goals. If students receive a majority of their curriculum in their core courses to help for college preparation, plus have the opportunity to take a few career based courses then they’ll be fine. However, if schools allow students to focus more on the training of a career that interests them at the moment rather than focusing on college preparation they may not comprehend the core subjects such as math, literature, science, and history, and the students will not have the strong basis that colleges require in order to be successful. High schools mainly focus on grades, attendance, and behavior and as a result, surveys consistently show that many high school graduates do not meet employers’ standards in a variety of academic areas, as well as in employability skills such as attendance, teamwork and collaboration, and work habits. (Hart) Having to take classes such as health, culinary arts, and apparel only help in the homemaking career. Advanced students have the opportunity to take harder courses however they aren’t necessarily getting you ready for college; there seen more as a challenge. Even though public schools offer college courses, the students are treated differently from......

...required students to learn make, decisions, analyze arguments, and solve problems without ever teaching them to do so (Halpern, 2005). Collecting information is not a matter of critical thinking. Someone with an immaculate recollection and someone who identifies many details are not automatically excellent at critical thinking. A critical thinker is capable to reason consequences as of what they recognize and they recognize how to build use of information to work out problems and search for appropriate foundations of information to enlighten them. We tend to think critical thinking as a cold, scientific or objective way of looking at things, but this is inaccurate (Wells). A critical thinking situation I remembered was encountered back in high school when I was a senior. One day I was given the chance to evaluate the teachers grade book. While evaluating the teachers grade book I discovered information that seemed to bother me in a sense. There were mostly blank spaces in the homework part of the book with only a few names. Although I noticed that many of the students did not do or turn in homework during the last several months. The names in the grade book were the students who have turned in their homework time and time again while the others failed to do nothing. I discussed the issues with my teacher asking why the majority of the students were not being encouraged to do their homework and she replied that there was nothing she could do. She explained to me how there......

High School

...credits, community service, and better grades runs many high schoolers ragged. For many anything but the best is simply unacceptable. In a society that constantly tells its youth they must have the highest pay check and newest car to be happy, why wouldn't this be the case? A fifth year of high school would give students more opportunity to take classes they would enjoy, take stress off of teenagers, and give the youth of our nation a chance to develop good priorities. Schools are always adding new and interesting courses, but for many, like the college bound student, there just isn't the time. Though an arts and crafts class might sound like fun, something like AP Music Theory would probably look better on a transcript. Since there is no time to take both the student will probably take the harder class even if it is just to keep up appearances. Fifteen years old seems too early to start making "career" choices over things that would be fun. But it happens and it causes stress. Teenagers in the country have an ever growing load of stress being placed upon them. Starting before high school teens are faced with the questions: Where are you going to college? How are you going to get there? What are you going to be? All these questions are extremely daunting and often stress students out. Also, with the price of college so high many students take on a job during high school which only adds to the stress. With an extra year of high school not only would students have time to......

...My experiences in high school are my most vivid of memories when it comes to reading, writing, and communicating. My freshman year of high school I had an English teacher that had a big personality and made English class interesting and often unpredictable. She would break out into a song or dance in order to explain things such as a hyperbole. She was the first teacher to peak my interest in reading and writing. Sophomore year was also a turning point for my writing because I had to write a lengthy research paper on Macbeth by William Shakespeare. I learned that I have trouble staying focused on my thesis at times and my wording can often be awkward. I was thankful that quite a bit of drafting was involved and my final paper was a huge improvement. Junior year was a great year for my interest in reading because I read East of Eden by John Steinbeck, which was a great book. Reading East of Eden made me realize how important annotating is and that rereading the text may be necessary if you did not pick up a good understanding the first time around. Senior year was an interesting one because of my expository reading and writing class. One of the hardest things I did was writing a group essay. We were in a group before we started the essay then when we started to draft we discovered we had different opinions on the topic. Communication was key and we had to figure out a compromise so that we could all get our point across. High school had a huge contribution to my literacy......

Combat High

...Combat High The article “Combat High”, by Sebastian Junger, is a primary source of the War in Afghanistan that shows an important message to the audience through first hand experiences. Junger’s tone is seen by the reader first by the title itself. The title “Combat High” tells the audience the basic feeling and ideas which are about to be contained in the article. Without even reading it, one can foresee a connection between combat and a type of high feeling that the author is about to show in the article. The article states that Junger accompanied the combat platoons based at the Outpost Restrepo, and reported and documented 14 months of his life there. This makes any information given by Junger a primary source, for he was the one experiencing to first hand. In this particular article, Jungers main point is intended for a certain audience through the purpose and goals of his writing. Junger had one main point to cover while writing this article, along with many other smaller ones mentioned, to express to the reader. Overall, Junger states the lifestyle and reality of war is one that no other men who hasn't fought in combat will understand. This is just the overall message, but between this message lies more. Junger uses his firsthand experience to document a primary source containing this idea. As claims for this idea, Junger explains to the reader day to day struggles a soldier must go through to survive a newly accustomed lifestyle. He backs up these claims by......

High Perfomance

...Setting your compass for high performance In order to be successful at leading those around you, whether it’s in a family situation, sport or business, Step 1 is to actually have the ability to lead yourself. And in order to be able to lead yourself, to successfully address problems or issues - you need to be able to monitor your own emotions, your own reactions so that you can make good decisions. It’s all about awareness…which is the key to high performance. (read more) Awareness as the cornerstone for high performance As a leader, the best way of getting high performance out of an organisation is to enable your next line leaders to coach themselves and then to turn their attention to coaching others within their group, who coach others within their group….and it rolls on, effectively like waves rolling onto a beach. But if you don’t start from the cornerstone of awareness, you can’t even begin to get the momentum to put that wave into motion. The best way for me to describe this is to use a footy example. When I played for Collingwood, our head coach couldn’t run onto the field in the middle of a game and tell me “hey mate that’s not right.” I had to have my concentration turned up to full, be aware of the job I was supposed to be doing, be aware of what I was actually doing and know if there was any shortfall. I had to sort it out for myself and then mid-match, coach the younger ones around me on the ground, so that they could step up to what they......

High School

...Itch—the incurable chaffing we all crave to scratch. The cure? Graduation. As we progress through our high school years growing with wisdom and maturity, we all yearn for freedom. Yet what we desire most is not always what is best for us. Although most won't want to admit it, extending our high school career to five years would make an important and beneficial impact on our future. With the four years that are currently provided, there is not enough time for motivated students to accomplish their goals before college. Merely being accepted by a selective college or university requires much pre-planned effort that is literally unavailable to students already concerned with grades and other activities. Colleges look most thoroughly at how an applicant used his or her four years of high school. Leadership roles, a dedication to an organization, and a well-rounded, involved student is appealing to the most elite educational institutions. Often, students desire leadership positions in numerous extra-curricular organizations, but face limiting regulations on the number of offices they may hold at one time. Even if a school doesn't limit students' involvement, students eventually reach the limits of what a 24-hour day can hold. Too often, students cannot participate as much as they want in as many extra-curriculars as they want because there just isn't time. With an extra year of high school, those involved in more than one activity could successfully find the time to contribute......

High School

...High School Imagine this… You forget to set your alarm, so you wake up late. You rush to get ready. As you are driving out of the driveway you realize you are low on gas. You finally make it to class, but you are late. One more tardy and you have Saturday school. Your second period class has a pop quiz which you are not prepared for. When you go to the restroom you over hear two of your friends making fun of your outfit. You are wondering if this day could possible get any worse. And then it does. Your boyfriend of nine months picks this day to break up with you. At one time or another every high schooler will experience a day similar to this. This is an illustration of why the high school years can be the most difficult times in a young person’s life. For example, peer pressure is something every high schooler will face on frequent bases. In an article in the current issue of Parenting Magazine, Katelyn Smith reports that an increase in the number of high school students have been exposed of the common peer pressures in today’s society: drugs, alcohol, and sex. Have you ever been put in a situation where all eyes are on you and you felt like you have to say yes or you will be ridiculed? Studies from the Adolescence Association indicate that roughly 80% of high school students experience peer pressure throughout their high school career. My parents have always told me to,” Say no to peer pressure!” The second most difficult time of a high school student is dealing......

...Zubura Zubura etting high on marijuana has been happening for Centuries.  Here we take a look at what we call the 3 Levels of HIGH on Cannabis.  We specify marijuana for obvious reasons. Once you have read these descriptions, we hope you'll agree and see (in your own experience) how we have come to these accurate conclusions. Below you will find our description of basically what happens when you smoke marijuana, and what happens when you continue to indulge.  Some believe there are more than 3 levels of getting high, and they have every reason as marijuana affects everyone a little differently. The apparatus you choose to smoke your pot in will vary.  While this can influence the rate at which you attain these levels, it does not negate the fact that you go through each one to experience the next (no matter ho ractice:
Limited to taking only two or possibly three hits (tokes, inhales, etc.)

Effect: This is the first level experienced in getting high on pot. You catch a nice, calm, enjoyable, floaty, buzz.  First time users may claim to be stoned. This buzz practice is good for the daily user who begins their day with a buzz (not to be confused with "wake & bake" - see Stoned).  Catching a Buzz is not enough to get burnt out, and yet you have not truly reached the Level of High (so to speak).  You can revisit your joint or pipe later and refresh your buzz by taking a couple more hits.  This can be continued through-out the day with few (if any) ill......

High School

...while I had graduated from my high school and I feel privileged that I am standing in front of you students and parents to make my speech. I had been going through the same process when I was undergoing all my graduation. I had many questions and concerns when I was graduating at the time. I was thinking about where I am going to be at after graduating from my high school because I didn’t had any idea what majors to select and what school to go to.
