Transitive trust is a relatively easy concept to understand. Transitive trust is the implicit trust of another by an individual. I will use my Mother and Father as the example. My Father wants to keep me the asset safe but the one person he trusts more than anything is my Mother. He trusts my Mother so much that if she trusts or believes in someone else for my safety say my Aunt, my Father will then also trust her as well. This can be a destructive path in the long run from what I see. If my Mother has the transitive trust in my Aunt, she could then trust my Aunt’s neighbor Bill who my Aunt trusts with anything. My Mother would then trust Bill because my Aunt does which in turn would cause my Father to trust Bill as well. Bill though could be a Trojan looking to cause trouble and then would gain access to me by knowing the right person. This would then cause havoc in everything that my Father wanted to keep safe. In terms of a computer you would just have to change my Father to the computer’s owner, my Mother would be a file of a trusted friend that was created on my Fathers computer and My Aunt would be a torrent site that my Father’s friend likes to frequent that had malicious malware. The malicious malware would alter the file that is trusted by the computer’s owner because he did not know where the file was from or altered by. (Smith, 2013, p.165)

...a station wants to transmit (carrier sense), the station waits a random number of microseconds before trying again. However, if two stations coincidentally transmit their frames at exactly the same time, their signals will collide. Both stations detect the collision and back off a random duration before retrying. Today, collisions have been mostly eliminated, because shared Ethernet gave way to full-duplex, point-to-point channels between sender and receiver (see switched Ethernet). However, CSMA/CD provides compatibility for older shared Ethernet hubs that may still be in place. Ethernet is a data link protocol, and CSMA/CD is a MAC layer protocol. Token Ring is a data link technology for local area networks (LANs). It operates at layer 2 of the OSI model. Unlike all other standard forms of LAN interconnects, Token Ring maintains one or more common data frames that continuously circulates through the network. These frames are shared by all connected devices on the network as follows: a frame (packet) arrives at the next device in the ring sequence, that device checks whether the frame contains a message addressed to it. If so, the device removes the message from the frame. If not, the frame is empty (called a token frame), the device holding the frame decides whether to send a message. If so, it inserts message data into the token frame and issues it back onto the LAN. If not, the device releases the token frame for the next device in sequence to pick up and the above steps...

...BUSI600: Forum 2 Group 2 – Johnson, Joyner, Kramer, Lyons, Moore Liberty University Dr. Johnathan Schultz January 26, 2014 Forum 2 Question 19.3 The role of president in an organization is very time consuming and requires a broad knowledge base. The president must be informed to make decisions on various issues, such as: financial, investment, operational, marketing, and strategic. A study of the company’s pension plan compared to other firms in the industry should be in a management report form. Management reports are best when the reader has little time to absorb details and needs prompt exposure to critical findings (Cooper & Schindler, 2014). The order of the management report allows clients to grasp conclusions and recommendations quickly, without much reading, or with efficient use of time in this case (Cooper & Schindler, 2014). It may be helpful to have a technical report available for further information at the president’s request, but a management report should be presented first. It is likely that the President would rely on a Chief Financial Officer to further evaluate the report, or maybe even an actuary if the pension plan analysis involves heavy calculations and projections. A technical report format should be used to describe a marketing experiment for submission to the Journal of Marketing Research. A technical report is “the report that other researchers will want to see because it has the full story of what was done and how it was...

...Traits of Online Learners Christina Kellam ID# L26677261 Discussion Board Forum 2 Final INFT 101 B89 There use to be a time when majority of students would take college courses in a classroom. Now a lot of colleges/universities give the privilege of completing courses at home online. There are more and more students choosing to do online schooling. One of the reasons is due to it being a little bit more flexible with their schedules. What is it that makes online learners successful? Boyd (2004) stated “There may be only certain kinds of students under certain conditions who can successfully learn via the online format” (p. 31). Will only certain students succeed in online courses? I feel that anyone can succeed as long as you have motivation and determination. Taormino (2010) stated in the article “Student awareness of the characteristics, traits, and skills for online learning is an important area of dialogue between the student and learning institution” (p.55). I would have to agree with Taormino about making the students more aware of what all is involved with online courses. I do feel that anyone that is doing work on a computer on a regular basis will improve their skills no matter what their background is within computer skills. Mark Taormino’s article has been summarized with key characteristics along with reflection and application for successful online learning. The first category of characteristics for a successful online learner is Technical......

...the local church can do is become less of an organization and more of an organism. In the Organization of the Church, Towns spends significant time discussing the need for organization of the church, but only gives two sentences to the organism of the church. Towns himself states, “It is a reflection of the life and power of the Lord Jesus Christ who indwells it” (Organization of the Church). The power of Jesus Christ is exposed by vigorously engaging in the example He set for us with His life. The local church should express its power in service to others just as Jesus showed his disciples. Finally, the local church might repent, renew, and, revive as Town’s suggests at the end of chapter 9 (p. 109). A good place to start is at Philippians 2:3-16: which states, “Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.” God used the experience of pride to show humans humility. We as individuals must remember that the Church does not live by the focus and actions of others, but by the focus and the spreading of the gospel of Jesus....

Db Forum 2 Thread - Busi 330

...Discussion Board Forum 2 Thread BUSI 330 Amazon believes in keeping its marketing plan simple in order to be effective. Consequently, their marketing plan is based upon the 4 P’s (product, price, place, and promotion). Amazon’s product is to provide an unparalleled selection of any item that exists on the planet. Its prices are extremely competitive and often lower than traditional stores and it is more convenient for people to shop on the internet (place) than it is in a physical location. Finally, its promotion emphasizes big ideas, innovation, technology, and customer centricity, enabling it to market itself as the most convenient place for consumers to shop and satisfy their needs (Kerin & Hartley, 2015). This strategy targets Generational Y cohorts and the millennials who will respond to technology-driven promotions. The primary advantage that Amazon has over brick and mortar department stores is the depth of their selection and inventory. Amazon is able to list more goods than a department store would ever be able to store in its building. Consequently, consumers are almost absolutely sure that they will find what they are looking for when they shop at Amazon while they are not sure that their local department store will carry those items. Another advantage that Amazon holds over brick and mortar department stores is the convenience of the shopping process. Customers can research alternatives online far quicker than they could at a physical store. Furthermore,...

...Journal Two: Identifying Conflict in Two Texts Read About Journals in ENG125: Introduction to Literature for more information about the purpose and expectations for journals. This week, you continue writing your journal entries. This journal entry is designed to help you document ideas about conflicts in literature, which will contribute to the information required for the Week Three Draft and the Week Five Literary Analysis. Recognizing conflict is essential to understanding the various commentaries literature can provide.  In Journal One, you identified conflict as it might appear in our everyday world and from other sources. Now, consider the following definition of conflict and how it relates to literature from the textbook or the story/poetry links provided under the requirements for the Literary Analysis:  Conflict is opposing actions, ideas, and decisions that hold a plot together...the struggle that shapes the plot in a story.  Chapters 1-7 of our text contain a number of stories and poems, each of which rely on at least one conflict. Choose two of this week’s assigned literary works and write about the conflicts presented in each of them. ...Week 2 Assignment Monica Callis, Week 2 Assignment The four functions of management can be affected by internal and external factors such as globalization, technology, innovation, diversity, and ethics. The functions of management are not immune to these factors no matter how big or small the organization. Even an organization as large and complex as Apple is affected by these factors. Globalization Globalization has become a key factor for large corporations to excel above the competition. Who would have thought that the production of a computer being made in a garage in 1976 would have emerged into sales being over $750 million by 1982 shortly following Apple being incorporated in 1977? Globalization had to be a major influence to Apple’s revenue. It is known that globalization brings greater opportunity to a broader market while promoting competitors that will require a superior level of competence for any organization that will take advantage of it. Apple has made great profit by globalizing their company. Annual reports show that international sales take the lead in bringing in sales and are continuing to rise which is the result of good management. From my understanding, Apple had been trying to market Korea with their products for a long time since Korean market for the Cellular phone and mp3 market had been rising rapidly. The iPhone was the only phone that could not get into Korean market. They had studied the audience and the market very well and......
