Evaluating the Research Process
The article “Are abnormal premorbid personality traits associated with Alzheimer’s disease?-A case-control study” is very informative for those researching such cases. This paper will provide an explanation as to how the research for the above article was conducted. Research is a vital process that consists of very specific stages which result in new conclusions. These stages consist of selecting an issue to conduct research on, formulate a hypothesis, reviewing the provided information, identifying each different aspect, providing an explanation, and analyzing the information/data in order to formulate a conclusion. Just as the article is titled, this is a case-control study. Each participant and informant which will be explained provided consent, whether it was written or verbal. This design of research was utilized to identify and provide factors which are believed to possibly play a role in certain medical conditions. As any other research is conducted and hypotheses are formed, a comparison must be made to establish the case. In this study, there were 217 participants which have onset Alzheimer’s disease. Out of the 217 participants, there were 57 males and 160 females. This portion of participants was grouped between the ages of 67 to 98 years of age. The control groups were made up of 76 siblings who do not have the same condition, Alzheimer’s. This group consisted of 32 males and 44 females, and was between the ages of 61-68 years of age. Each individual participant was assigned an informant who was responsible for providing information on whomever they were assigned to. Most of those who were informants were either a spouse (37%) or an off-spring (57%). Also, “both cases and controls received informant ratings of premorbid personality” (Nicholas, Moran, Foy, Brown,…...

...(Michela K. Allen) DeVry University Professor Gredler 9/16/2013 America is a free country with a free will to do what we please. Although I love the idea of being in county that all free will, because there are other countries that have strict detrimental rules that does not allow the citizens to live freely; however each country have a culture full of beliefs that should be recognized by others cultures. In my own person opinion, each race should have a good idea of each other cultures, which in turn will create a positive level of respect. This restaurant evaluation was easy to select considering I’ve always wondered why Japanese and Chinese have become so Americanized. Chinese foods are not really recipes created from China it’s actually a combination of mistakes that started, from as early as 1882, when China immigrated over to the United States. The small numbers of people came from a rural area in china therefore the foods were similar to the living conditions poor. Thought-out the years many china men entered the United States illegally, bringing their food idea with them. The combination meals that we know as Tso’s General Chicken, Sweet and Sour Chicken , Fried rice are the fake food the real Chinese dishes. This meal were comprised based on the Americans taste, I happened to love Chinese foods; however it’s hard to gain the full appreciation because the lack of authentic appeal. ...Evaluation Criteria Paper As the form of technology changes so do the need for new companies. Opening new companies enable new job opportunities. Bradford Enterprise is a company that has made a positive impact on expanding. Within the last 12 months Bradford Enterprise has doubled their locations from 10 to 22 and tripled their employees from 3,000 to 8,000. Expansion shows that a company is doing well and having a successful human resource department to help both the company and its employee’s stands out. Has the HR manager I will explain the necessary tools used to identify the selection test that will be used for each job applicant, the human resources information systems (HRIS), and a succession plan that will keep Bradford Enterprise afloat. After carefully reviewing the necessary skills needed to fill the opened positions here at Bradford Enterprise, I have come up with a series of test for screening the applicants. These selection tests will help with recognizing the applicant’s skills, abilities, and aptitude. These tests will demonstrate how well the applicants complete specific job duties. Tests will be on a computerized testing system. This is an easier way for human resources to keep track of the way the test has been administered, and help with scoring errors. These tests are a form of adaptive testing. Adaptive tests are made up of questions chosen from a large test bank to match the skill and ability level of the test taker (Sage Publications, 2007). ...that a delightful appetizer menu and all deserts made in house. However, with such amazing creativity, comes understandable limits. The entrée menu is usually bound to about 10 selections, not counting the specials. With no liquor license, patrons are encouraged to bring their own adult beverages. Depending on one’s point of view, BYOB can be either a positive or negative. The next criteria used for my evaluation was the atmosphere found at Serenity Café. As soon as you step inside the restaurant you cannot help but notice the relaxed atmosphere. It is not uncommon to see folks dressed in jeans and button-down shirts across from a table of diners attired in formal evening wear. Both of which is perfectly acceptable at this location. The front of the house is tastefully decorated with just the right amount of art and interesting items on the walls, with a warming paint scheme. But, to get a table at this place, one must secure a reservation in advance as there is seating for only about 90 persons. Finally, of course I had to consider price in the evaluation. The majority of the entrees are priced at $25 or less, with several items below $20, while most of the appetizers are $10 or less. Guests can save additional money by avoiding the normal grossly inflated wine list prices by bringing their own vino selections to the table. There is also a nice lunch menu offered with most items at or below $10. On the down side, there is the occasional $30 plus......

...Week 2 Assignment: Memorandum Evaluation ENG221 5 March 2015 After reviewing the memorandum, sent by Mr. McCauley, I was baffled. The acronym, “HR”, in the memorandum heading, was not clarified. After reading the second paragraph, it was assumed that it meant “Human Resources”. The acronym, “COO”, was also not explained, for I could only assume that it meant “Chief Operations Officer”, and was not referring to Mr. McCauley’s state of sanity. In the message body, though the memorandum is responding to the Service Request RM004, the service request, even if briefly, was not explained. The disparate tools used were not explained in how they were different, nor did it reveal who used them. The second paragraph, beginning with, “I look forward to moving…,” should have been the last paragraph in concluding the memorandum. The jargon “state-of-the-art” would not be a proper description, in a professional memorandum, of the technology being integrated. A good replacement word, for that phrase, would have been, “advanced”. In the third paragraph of the memorandum body, the tone appears demanding and, within the first sentence, threatening. Though a project plan may be a requirement, it could have been stated in a different format. I would have written the following: “In order for the funding of the integration project can be allocated, a detailed written report will be required containing the following: a list of all the tasks, resources, schedule, and budget requirements.......

...Evaluation Wal-Mart is an organization that believes in having an effective evaluation process for its managers. An effective process will provide the necessary needs for learning and improvements on how to be a manager. Wal-Mart training process provides opportunities for managers throughout their careers. The organization will first look at the reaction to do the process. Questions will be asked about how the process went and how the individuals feel about the training. Exploring females in management, it is important for the company to gather facts and get reactions on how the individual was treated and how the training process felt. “As an organization it is stated that the cost of employing women in management is far greater than the cost of employing men so it is important that the evaluation process is effective.”(Harvard Business Review, 2011) As an organization we will provide our managers with experiences involving walkthroughs to stores that they are familiar with to test effectiveness of the training. The organization will provide stores consistent with diversity so that a male or female will feel comfortable in their environment. The organization will also test some of the qualities learned in the training by putting individuals in hands on situation that involves what managers do every day in certain situations. Since there have not been many females in higher position such as managers, interactions with other employers will be involved in the......
