Components of the Criminal Justice System

...What are the components of the criminal justice system? How do the components impact the overall process of the criminal justice system? What changes would you recommend to better improve the criminal justice process? Explain. The three components of the criminal justice system are the police, correctional agencies, and criminal courts. The Police are the first step in the judicial system. They are the first responders to any crime scene which goes into the investigation process. The investigation process will then lead to possible arrests; the criminal is then booked and processed. They are given a court date and from that point the case is in the criminal courts domain. Once a suspect is given a court date the Criminal Courts then conduct a fair and impartial trial. The criminal courts are there to protect the rights of anyone facing processing by the justice system. The suspect is then found guilty or not guilty. If the defendant is found guilty they are then transferred from the county jail, where they were being held, to a state prison or correctional facility. The Correctional Agencies are the final step in the criminal justice system. Sometimes this is the end of the road for some offenders and other times appeals are filed and it will go back to the court system. Correctional facilities have different levels: minimum security and maximum security. The severity of the crime will determine which one of the facilities the criminal will end up in. The changes I......

Components of Expectancy

...Components of Expectancy There are three components of the expectancy theory of motivation which will be explained in this essay. After the three components are explain, the components will be put to use in a real world scenario. The scenario introduces a company that produces a line of branded professional audio products for which they strive to provide the highest quality audio products in the industry. Now let’s get started with explain the three components. The first component is valence that refers to the appeal of a consequence to an individual employee. Salary, job security, benefits, feeling of accomplishment, and advancement. Optimistic or undesirable, valence can differ in size. The scale of valence is how necessary a conclusion is for an employee. The establishment of valence conclusions to employees is vital to inspire and keep valuable employees. As stated before, valence is the first module of the expectancy concept and is the important feature when deciding a stimulus factor for employees. Valence should be great. Employees should want or need the results they acknowledged if they are to achieve a higher level. Thus managers must regulate what results an employee wishes, or the valence of dissimilar results for the employee. The second key factor in the expectancy model is instrumentality. Components of Fitness

...Components of Fitness The 6 components of physical fitness are; muscular strength, muscular endurance, flexibility, speed, body composition, aerobic endurance and the components of skill-related fitness; agility, balance, co-ordination, power and reaction time. I will relate the components of fitness to my chosen sport-netball. 6 components of physical fitness Aerobic endurance Aerobic endurance is having the ability to exercise for a long period without getting tired. During aerobic work the body is dependent on oxygen; also athletes who are good at aerobic endurance will have slow twitch fibres. This component is suited for an ectomorph because of their small body surface area, light frame and good thermo regulation, which is suitable for endurance based sports such as a triathlon. Aerobic endurance relates to netball because you have to continually run up and down the court for the duration of the netball game. Muscular endurance Muscular endurance is having the ability to keep contracting your muscles without getting tired. During an activity that uses muscular endurance they will use slow twitch fibres because of the endurance of the activity. This component is suited for an endomorph because of their large lung capacity they are able to do sports like rowing, which needs muscular endurance. They are also able to increase their muscle mass easily. In netball you need to have good muscular endurance because you use your leg muscles – triceps and hamstrings-......

Lifestyle Components

...Principles of Marketing Jared A. Cook 09-12-2014 Professor Ashby Brame Component Lifestyles What are my component lifestyles, you ask? What exactly is a component lifestyle? What do I like or what am I interested in? What makes me tick, per say? I guess at this point in my life I can narrow it down to three things, besides being in school full time. Those three components happen to be Caffeine, Cars, and Music. Why these three? Well, caffeine helps me cope with something called the morning, cars are fun and very fast sometimes, and music is just awesome. I’m writing this paper to describe why I like these things and how they are marketed to me. Oh, and thanks for taking interest because my life is actually pretty awesome. The first component I am going to cover is Caffeine. I work for a company; you may have heard of it, it is kind of popular. They are all over the world in fact. And in New York City, there is one on every street corner, literally. You probably drink their products every day. Ringing any bells? Yup, it is Starbucks. I have been a “partner” with them for nearly seven years. I drink their coffee every day too. I guess you can say I am and addict. Oh well. And the best part is that I rarely have to pay for their products. But, what exactly are their products? Their biggest product is obviously their coffee. Starbucks also produces mugs, tumblers, brewers, grinders, French presses, and so on. But it all comes back to the coffee itself. Almost all the......

Ecosystem Components

...Alex Marchino SCI/ 256 4/14/2014 Week 2 Ecosystem Components Paper An ecosystem is a very complex set of relationships among our living resources, habitats, and residents of a selected area. Which consist of plants, animals, fish, trees, birds, water, microorganisms, soil, and people. Lake Mead National Recreation Area (NRA) located in Nevada provides spectacular scenic vistas of Lake Mead and rugged and isolated backcountry. Amazing and drastic physical features include deep canyons, colorful soils, sheer cliffs, distant mountain ranges, dry washes, the lakes, and rock formations and mosaics of different vegetation (National Park Service, 2012). In this essay I will be discussing the major structural and functional dynamics of Lake Mead National Recreation Area (NRA) on Roger Spring and Black Canyon Springs and how the human being have affected this ecosystem by interacting with its biogeochemical cycles. I will show how knowing the ecosystem structure and function could help in its management and restoration of the ecosystems as well. Black Canyon Spring is located downstream of Hoover Dam. Here, we can find springs of both the thermal (hot) and non-thermal (cold) variety with water temperatures ranging from about 55° to 136° Fahrenheit. Rogers Spring is located on “North Shore Complex” of the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. This area comprises of the terminal discharge areas for the regional carbonate-rock aquifer system from eastern Nevada (National Park...

Components of Pharmacology

...Components of Pharmacology Stacy Maryland Liberty University Online Pharmacology Pharmacology is the study of drugs; manmade, organic, or endogenous, and their application and physiological effect(s) most specifically on the central nervous system (CNS). The Doweiko text succinctly describes a pharmaceutical as that which is responsible for, “changing the biological functions of target cells through chemical action” (2015, p. 16). Drugs both licit and illicit, are largely classified as depressants, hallucinogens, opiates, and stimulants, come in myriad forms, allow for multiple avenues of consumption, and have inherent side effects. When developing, dispensing, or using a drug, it is necessary to understand the aforementioned, as well as its half-life, effective and lethal doses, potential interactions, and consequences of abuse or misuse. What is desired from a drug is its optimum effect or highest potential, which is contingent on its bioavailability and a rather complex process of being metabolized in the body. All substances have an effect on the body known as its half-life. Drug half-life, divided into three categories: distribution half-life, therapeutic half-life, and elimination half-life. It essentially refers to a compound’s effectiveness, duration of effect, and time in the body, respectively (Doweiko, 2015, p. 23). Every drug has a preferred effect. This intended outcome is referred to as its prime or desired effect. As previously stated, each of these...

...A-38 B&C, Sector- 64, Noida-201301 U.P. India. Sub: Electronics Engineering Management - Counterfeit Electronics components Abstract Counterfeiting has a long and despicable history, ranging from art and literature to manufactured goods. Unlike other industries, counterfeiting in the aerospace industry may have life or death Consequences. We take the problem seriously. Thus, all stakeholders from industry and government must work together to effectively reduce the introduction of counterfeit parts into the aerospace supply chain and minimize their impact. The introduction of counterfeit parts whether they are electronic, mechanical or other adversely affects government, industry, consumers which includes National security or civilian safety issues and costs of enforcement. Counterfeit parts are an escalating global supply chain challenge where a single occurrence represents widespread risk to product cost and quality, human safety, and national security. Aerospace and defense products are targets for counterfeiters because the systems are intended for use over extended time, leaving them vulnerable to obsolescence of parts, materials, subsystems and technologies. As the time of system use increases, a substantial number of the parts required to support aerospace and defense products are no longer available from the original equipment/component manufacturers (OEMs/OCMs) or through franchised or authorized suppliers. ...Component B : Individual essay TGI Friday's is an American restaurant chain focusing on casual dining. The company is a unit of the Sentinel Capital Partners and TriArtisan Capital Partners, who purchased the company from Carlson Companies in May 2014. The name is asserted to stand for "Thank god it’s Friday", although as of 2010 some television commercials for the chain have also made use of the alternative phrase, "Thank God it’s Friday's."[3] The chain is known for its appearance, with red-striped canopies, brass railings, Tiffany lamps, and frequent use of antiques as decor. One critical success factor for Fridays is to increase its market share in order to achieve more customers and keep up with competitors. Another critical success factor is for employees to have positive and friendly attitudes in order to provide guest satisfaction. Another critical factor to Friday’s success is the consistent decor music and lighting across their restaurants in order to provide a lively environment that keeps an engaging atmosphere for customers to feel welcomed and have a good time. TGI Friday's target market is the middle and upper middle class people from urban areas between the ages 22 to 55. This is due to the fact that despite being perceived as good value for money, Friday’s menu is still costly. TGI Friday’s business strategy is to spend 3% of revenue for advertising and promotion. Spreading the name in the market to improve its awareness is one of the company’s main focuses...
