What do companies who succeed and thrive in today’s world have in common? What does it take for a company to thrive in an ever-changing environment? One secret weapon most companies have discovered as a top priority today is innovation. In the world we reside in today, it’s a must that innovation is an important key to an organization’s overall business strategy. One company in particular, Apple, took the world by storm and used innovation and vision to turn the company failures into an overload of success. In this paper we will discuss some of Apple’s biggest successes and failures, how much of Apple’s success can be linked directly back to its culture, and the actions of Apple and how they apply to our TCO’s.
To give some background of the company history, Apple was founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne on April 1, 1976, to develop and sell personal computers. Jobs and Wozniak shared Job’s vision to build computers that average people could use and enjoy. Because of amid unsuccessful product launches, a power struggle ensued within the company and led to the resignation of Steve jobs in 1985. It was one year later that Steve's return to Apple was set into motion.
So what were some of Apple's biggest successes and failures during the return of Steve Jobs? One of the first inventions, The Apple II, became the most popular successful personal computer of its time (Gallo, 2013). The introduction of the Apple II computer launched what was to be a wave of new computers aimed at the home and small-business markets. Within a few months of the Apple II’s introduction, Commodore introduced its PET (Personal Electronic Transactor) computer and Tandy/Radio Shack brought out its TRS-80. Apple continued to work on…...

Why I Chose Devry

... Going to School Online By: Corina Jess I have been going to Devry Online for almost a year now. Choosing to go with Devry is one of the smartest decisions I have made. I chose Devry for several reasons, there attendance policy, the freedom it gives me, the price to go, and the being able to go at my own pace. Devry’s attendance policy is great. It is very easy to follow and fits into my crazy schedule. The attendance policy is simply show up in class at a minimum of three times a week, with the first time being before midnight mountain standard time on Wednesday. All assignments are due every week by Sunday at midnight MST, unless the professor give you a different date. Students are allowed to turn in late work if the professor accepts it, but the assignment will get a percentage penalty for it being late. What I also like about Devry Online is the freedom with the class schedule. There is no set time that a student must be logged into class. If I wanted to go to school at 2:00A.M, I could. The classes fit around my schedule. I have a very crazy life with work, school, kids, and my husband, so having the freedom to go to class whenever I wish is one less thing I have to worry about. The price to go to Devry Online is much cheaper than if I chose to go to a campus school. With Devry Online, I do not have to pay for a dorm room, extra books, meals, and gas to get back and forth to school. I enjoy not having to worry about how I am going to pay for my books...
