Aec,the Association of Southeast Asian Nations expected to grow by only 3.3% and 3.7% in 2011 and 2012. What Is the AEC? ASEAN was formed in 1967 under the "3 pillars" of regional cooperation, namely security, socio-cultural integration, and economic integration. In 1997, ASEAN leaders declared the ASEAN Vision 2020, which aimed to transform ASEAN into a "stable, prosperous and highly competitive region with equitable economic development, and reduced poverty and socioeconomic disparities." Building on this vision, at their 2007 Summit ASEAN leaders affirmed their strong commitment to accelerate the establishment of an ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) by 2015. ...Using the BIMS Part I data, Team C presents various descriptive statistics in the forms of frequency distribution table, measures of mean, median, mode, standard deviation, and graphical display of data. The first table is a frequency distribution table of one quantitative question in the BIMS data. Team C finds that the majority of the 78 respondents have between 0 to 20 months service with BIMS. The second highest group has between 40 to 60 months service with BIMS. The lowest frequency of one appears in five of the 17 classes. The classes with the lowest frequency of one are 120 < 140, 140 < 160, 240 < 260, 260 < 280, and 320 < 340. After summarizing the months of service per respondents, Team C focuses on the gender, division of employment, and manager/supervisors role questions. ...Turnover rate and Morale The turnover rate has climbed to over 64 percent from the industry standard of 55 to 60 percent during the last 4 months. Managers and supervisors both agree that something has happened to morale but they do not know what. Exiting interviewers leave no new information as to why there is a decrease in morale and their answers are far too similar to infer anything about why the morale is low, and why there is a high turnover rate. The cost of constantly training new employees is quite troublesome for the company, which is why the consulting team is looking to reduce these expenses. Hypothesis In order to figure out the cause of BIMS high turnover rate and low morale, our consulting group hypothesizes that by using an employee survey as an instrument to collect data, the company would be able to address the underlying issues of the problem. Purpose The purpose of surveying the workers is to identify the root cause of the decrease in morale and high turnover rate. Due to these concerns, the concentration should be on improving employee motivation and at least keeping employee retention to industry standard.
