...I am going to describe the product life cycle of Samsung Galaxy SII, the product we choose to analyze. The Samsung Galaxy SII is one of the most successful high-end Andriod handsets and it has sold 20 million units in 10 months since its release in April, 2011. Samsung’s big margins come from its high-end handsets like the Galaxy SII. That’s partly why their success defines the vector of the company. Now we’re moving on to the 4 stages of its PLC. Firstly, the introduction stage. In this stage, the company’s profits are low because of the low sales and promotional expenses as we can see from the diagram, the stage last for about 3 months with 5-million units sold in end of July. A lot of money was needed to spend in the process of designing and marketing this new product. In order to recover this money quickly to make to product profitable, Samsung took pricing-skimming strategy. It is a business technique which involves charging a high price for a product when it is released initially and gradually lowering the price overtime. The goal is to ensure that the price matches consumer willingness to pay and generating profits for the company both overtime and in short time. Another strategy Samsung always follow in this stage is called “ sashimi theory”. When prime fish is first caught, it’s very expensive in a top Japanese restaurant. If some of the fish is left over, it sells the next day for half the price in the 2rd tier restaurant. By the third day, it’s died fish. So the...

Braille Application

...Braille Application "Braille Touch," a free smartphone application, which simplifies Braille texting for the blind, points to restore keyboard possibilities for the majority of the smartphone market. Researchers at Georgia Tech have created a smart phone app that lets users type in an alphabet very similar to Braille. This application is intended for the visually impaired, but can be useful to many others as well. The costless Braille app could revolutionize texting. Braille touch is an easy to use, far from complicated application that will soon be available on Iphones and Andriod touchscreen smartphones. This application is based on Computer Braille, which is a method of typing that allows users to enter up to 63 characters by pressing different combinations of only six simple buttons. There are three dots found on each side of the touch screen, known as the six buttons. When using this system, users hold the phone facing away from the body, using their middle three fingers of each hand to chord in letters, numbers and characters such as question marks and exclamation points. Also, the user simply swiping their finger across the screen can enter spaces and backspaces. According to Georgia Tech researchers, “some visually impaired people were able to reach up to 32 words per minute with 92% accuracy with a prototype app for the iPhone.” It is said that typing with this app is up to six times faster than past methods for texting without sight. Availability to equipment......

Privacy Concerns and the Use of Internet Cookies

...Tweets with their email addresses could eventually be connected to decision making processes by credit agencies, health care providers or others according to privacy experts (Spring, 2010). With the emergence of HTML5, other capacities are now available to developers to cache large amounts of client data on devices and access it without having to do expensive web requests, requiring information going beyond the functionality of a cookie (Cox, 2009, p. 18). Another trend worth mentioning is the increasing percentage of users who access the internet from mobile devices, including smartphones, iPads, and others. This has prompted the development of secure browsers on many different platforms to increase security on mobile devices, for the Andriod platform, for example. This is particularly important for business users, guaranteeing adequate internet security even from those devices, capable of encrypting cookies, browsing history, and bookmarks and controlling how their content interacts with the rest of the applications and information contained in the device (“Data loss,” 2012). The use of internet cookies can be considered beneficial to a computer user. It can also be worrisome to computer owners that an uninvited information capturing file is introduced onto their machine. Allowing the use of cookies is up to the user; however, many computer users are completely unaware of when and how a cookie has been placed on their hard drive. Internet cookies were initially......

...Can I be Forgiven ? One must be forgive to be forgiven. In the short story “Marriage Is a Private Affair” Has enormous diversity in nationalities and cultures throughout the world often can create obstacles to developing relationships between those who choose to be narrow-minded and prejudiced about ethnic groups outside their own. Nnaemeka is deserving of forgiveness because as a individual he has the right to choose what kind of life style he wants to live. Nnaemeka grew up where tradition played a very important role in the way of life, because of this reason it was taken for granted that he would do as his people did in the past. His father expected him to follow the traditional rules of living. But when Nnaemeka got older he moved to a city and into a completely different culture. Leaving his home town he still knew what was expected of him but he disregarded those feelings. He knew that choosing a bride for him was the job of his father and yet he got engaged all on his own. Nnaemeka is deserving of forgiveness because as a individual he has the right to choose what kind of life style he wants to live. Nnaemeka is making a complicated decision because he must choose between the man who raised him or the woman he loves. It was also difficult because if he chooses his wife, then his father may never speak to him again, but if he chooses his father, then he may never experience true love ever again. The Purpose of an Opperating System

...------------------------------------------------- An operating system is a platform where it communicates with the computer to run everything. It runs applications, drivers such as Printers, keyboards, monitors, usb ports, and even your disk drive.
