In the year of 2004 my family and I went to Paris, France. We drove in our car, and it isn’t easy to drive in Paris. It was a very good vacation with my family and I think that Paris is one of the cities in the world all people have to see. Families, couples and old people come to the city to experience the French people, their sights and their amazing architecture. Of course I was only 11 years old, so I was more interested in visiting Disneyland and the Eiffel tower, than go to museums and looking at buildings.
Even though it has been many years since I visited Paris, many things about that vacation are still very clear in my memory. For example, I remember when my sister, my father, my mother and I went to Disneyland. It was very exciting because many of my classmates had been there at the time and told me how fun it had been. My sister and I were so ecstatic when we entered, we didn’t even have the time to embrace the atmosphere or look around properly, and we ran around and spoke out of context. We calmed down and followed our parents around.
After some time, after seeing where all the princesses lived, we came to the conclusion that Disneyland wasn’t as fun as we had imagined it would be. We saw the princess parade and a place where you could see animals like horses, chickens and rabbits. I think that was the highlight on that trip. Anyway, sometimes it doesn’t matter what you do, but who you do it with, so I would say that I was very lucky to have my sister with me.
Of course my parents were to have a bit of ‘fun’ too, so they chose for our family to take a guided trip on a boat. I remember we sailed past Notre Dame. At the time I only knew the building from the Disney movie, so I think I was expecting a man jumping around on the top of the building or something. Another thing I remember was that, when the guide on the boat first mentioned Notre Dame,…...

...A Trip to Malaysia Travelling is a sense of adventure that excites people, and also is a big chance for us to learn about other cultures and the way people live their lives. While many tourists travel to France, England or some famous countries in Europe, fewer travel to a small country in Asia. As someone who loves to explore and enjoy new things, 3 years ago in the summer, my boyfriend and I decided to backpack to Malaysia. It was a fantastic trip and an amazing experience for us that you should definitely try it. In this country, there are three destinations that travelers should not miss: the Petronas Twin Towers, Golden Triangle area, and The Genting Highland Park. When we arrived into Kuala Lumpur, we headed straight to the Petronas Twin Towers, which are also known as the world’s tallest tower. They are an impressive icon of the capital of Malaysia that are visible from about everywhere in the city, and dominate the night sky. The Petronas Twin Towers are 1,483 feet tall, have 88 stories, and were completed in 1998. The architecture was very magnificent from the outside, especially at night, they look like ice sculptures. The most attractive architecture of the tower is that at the 41st and 42nd level, there is a skybridge connecting the two towers. The bridge is 170 meters above the ground, 58 meters long and weighs 750 tons. My boyfriend and I drove the high-speed lift that zooms up to the skybridge on the 41st floor; we walked across the skybridge to take some......

France

...France The little powerhouse that is France is home to the most romantic city in the world, Paris. Its area is slightly less than the size of Texas at 643,701 sq km. Other major cities in the country are Marseille-Aix-en-Provence, Lyon, Lille, and Cannes which is famous for the film festival. French is the official language, and its neighbors include Belgium, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland. The United States has quite a few less neighbors at 2, which are Canada and Mexico. France is easily navigable by water as all natural waterways crisscross the country. The Loire River is 625 miles long, beginning in the southeastern part of France and flows into the Bay of Biscay. While the Loire is the longest, the Rhone is the ‘biggest river in France in terms of depth and volume’ (USA Today, Travel Tips). The Seine River comes in third, but is largest as far as popularity and name recognition go. It is home to many places tourists frequent. France is also surrounded by many well-known bodies of water including the Atlantic Ocean, the English Channel, the Bay of Biscay, and the Mediterranean Sea. The populations of France and the United States differ tremendously. An estimated 62,814,233 people call France their home while an estimated 313,847,465 people live in America. The French are principally Celtic and Latin, Slavic, North Africa, and Indochinese and Americans are white, black, Asian, Amerindian and Alaska native, native Hawaiian, and other Pacific Islander (The......

...France The French Revolution (French: Révolution française; 1789–1799) was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France that had a fundamental impact on French history and on modern history more broadly. The absolute monarchy that had ruled France for centuries collapsed within three years. French society underwent an epic transformation, as feudal, aristocratic and religious privileges evaporated under a sustained assault from radical left-wing political groups, masses on the streets, and peasants in the countryside.[1] Old ideas about tradition and hierarchy regarding monarchs, aristocrats, and the Catholic Church were abruptly overthrown by new principles of Liberté, égalité, fraternité (liberty, equality and fraternity). The royal houses across Europe were horrified and led a countercrusade that by 1814 had restored the old monarchy, but many major reforms became permanent. So too did antagonisms between the supporters and enemies of the Revolution, who fought politically over the next two centuries. Amidst a fiscal crisis, the common people of France were increasingly angered by the incompetency of King Louis XVI and the continued indifference and decadence of the aristocracy. This resentment, coupled with burgeoning Enlightenment ideals, fueled radical sentiments, and the French Revolution began in 1789 with the convocation of the Estates-General in May. The first year of the Revolution saw members of the Third Estate proclaiming the Tennis Court......

...people are looking for an escape period allowing yourself to detach from the craziness. Gave yourself time to recharge and rejuvenate from the everyday stress. My family is no different we are all looked forward to the spring break. We got two weeks this year instead of the normal one week. My family started to write down ideas on pieces of paper, then put them in a paper sack. Next, we all took a turn and pulled one out of the sack the trip ideas that were pulled trip to the Wallowa Mountains, trip to the Oregon coast, and then Yakima, Wa was pulled from the bag. Once I saw what my mum and my son pulled, my paper got tossed over my shoulder. The challenge now were to pick from the two options trip to the Wallowa Mountains or the trip to the Oregon coast. We ponder on what the Oregon coast and the Wallowa Mountains offered in actives, accommodations, and weather in late March. We were down to trip to the Wallowa Mountains and the Oregon coast. As we looked at these two, we noticed these were just a few of the more common spring break trips. These two place Oregon coast and the Wallowa Mountains are still far from being a like each other. Then my family was curious about other things such as accommodations and the weather in late March. The weather in Oregon can be unpredictable in late March at the Oregon coast also at the Wallowa Mountains. The weather can be sunny one moment to down pour rain. The Oregon coast often in late March can be foggy and stormy with high winds.......

...Can you tell me a country as remarkable as France? You probably cannot. France is an astonishing country. The primary language of France is French. French is a language derived from Latin and 115 million people speak it as a native language. Approximately 15% of the world knows how to speak French. This language was born in France and it is spoken in many other places such as Quebec, Mauritius, Louisiana, and Côte d'Ivoire. France has many more things too offer than language. Field Trip Tp France

...Field Trip Report My field trip report is on a Broadway musical that my husband took me to see just last week in New York City. Based on the popular 1994 film of the same name, Priscilla Queen of the Desert follows two drag queens and a transsexual who buy a run-down old bus (they call it Priscilla) and set out on a road trip across the Australian Outback when one of them, Tick, is invited by his ex-wife to perform his drag show at her far-away resort. I like this musical because it presents my beautiful costumes and the scenes are so magical. The way that this musical is done just shows the talent and dedication these dancers have in the play. Featuring dance and disco tunes from the likes of Madonna, Cyndi Lauper and Donna Summer, Priscilla is filled with incredibly imaginative and over-the-top costumes, drag makeup and dance numbers that maintain an energetic pulse throughout the show. A life size bus even moves around onstage. I went to go see the show and let me tell you that it was the best thing I have ever seen. The costumes, design, facility, and many other things were just amazing. When my husband and I got there to New York City was just beautiful. I have just seen New York in magazines or in television but never in real life. I was just surprised and over helmed of how beautiful time square was. I just felt like if everything was possible in that moment. As we moved further to see the show and went inside the view that we got of the show was just very good. We...

...vacations. On car journey I would like to talk about today was my visit to Mount WUYI which is located in Fujian province. Last winter vacation, my family and I decided to go to Hainan. Unfortunately, we were informed that Hainan was hit from typhoon 2 days before our departure. As the city repaired damaged, there were still powerful following storms threatening this region. Out of a choice, we canceled our trip. However, it was not often the case that my family and I could get time together to have a holiday trip. In order to fully enjoy our vacation as we planned, we changed our destination to WUYI city. Due to the sudden change, we failed to buy train tickets and had to drive there on our own. It turned out that visiting places like Mount WUYI is perfect for self-driving. It was estimated as a 3-hour driving so we rented a SUV and switched drivers on the way. Each of us were responsible for a part of the highway, and whenever we saw something fascinating, we just pulled over the car to have a closer look at it. I guess those are the merits of renting a car and going on a trip with family. Mount WUYI, a very popular scenic area in China is famous for the natural conservation of numerous ancient plant species and wildlife. The popular activities there include hiking and drifting. The first day we rode a raft down the streams. The raft we took was tied by bamboo, and there were two men using long poles to steer the craft down the water. When drifting smoothly on the......

...1. Heat waves After the devastating event that occurred in the year 2003 where around 15,000-19,000 people died as a result of extreme temperatures most of them being elderly citizens. France has decided to adopt strict heat wave guidelines in order to avoid to occurrence of such events. * Pollution In order to help reduce automobile exhaust fumes, the Paris police asked motorists to reduce their speed, while the mayor’s office has made street parking free and asked residents to use public transport regularly. Not to mention, City Hall has carried discussion regarding the concept of making auto-sharing and bike sharing free of service during the heat wave. * Transport France’s national and city train system is regularly dealing with significant delays during the summer months due to the extreme heat which caused the metal railway tracks to expand and power cables to deform. Hence, trains are forced to move at a slower pace resulting in heavy delays. A quick temporary solution to this event declared by the national SNCF is to deploy extra staff to quickly resolve technical problems, and distribute bottles to customers. * Outdoor workers To ensure the wellbeing of the employees working outdoors, Minister Touraine has asked businesses to take preventative measures during the head wave. She advised them to “rearrange the workday whenever feasible, because it is very hard to work outdoors”. The French law states that all employers must take all the......

...France If there was one thing at the forefront of the minds of French voters, with the upcoming presidential election, it would be the current economic crisis focusing mainly on the failing euro. (Hey, Big Spender) This paper will summarize three articles that relate to the failing euro and the French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s role in this issue, part of a possible solution of getting it back on track in “Going Dutch” by Martin Feldstien, in the “The Failure of the Euro” from Foreign Affairs, “Hey, Big Spender” from The Economist, and Eduardo Cue, in the “Prospects Are Good for New Plan from Merkel,Sarkozy” from U.S. News and World Report. European nations are required to become integrated and unified as a whole to participate and enhance Europe’s role in world affairs abroad. One of the main ideas to begin this integration was the trial of creating a unified currency system that is now increasingly being recognized as a experiment that has vehemently failed. This failure was not an accident or the result of bureaucratic mismanagement but rather the inevitable consequences of imposing a single currency on a very heterogeneous group of countries. The adverse consequences of the failing euro on the European economies include the current debt crises, fragile conditions of numerous banks, high levels of unemployment, and large trade deficits. (Feldstein) Lately, worries about the stability of the euro reached a high as Italy's bond yield, indicative of the rate it would pay...
