Hoolidays, A time everyone gets hyped up over, parents planning activities for the family to spend quality time with and school children ( as well as teachers) jumping for joy. Hello, waking up late, celebrating, goin for tuition and best of all, vacations! In myy case, a holiday I would never forget is a fruitful one I expereinced five years ago, where my family I spent six days in the land of K-Pop and ' kimchi '- Korea.

Finally, after ages of waiting, our family arrived in beautiful Korea. Stepping out of the plane, we could feel the chilly weather to our bones. Never experiencing that kind of weather, my siblings and I were totally excited. Passing through immigration and baggage claim, we were talking animatedly about our new surroundings. Since we went with tour group, we knew we were in good hands.

Incident number one. We were supposed to take a bus to check in at the hotel, as instructed. I guessed I was overeager and without thinking. I ran to a random bus and knocked on the door. The young bus driver opened the door and looked at me with a puzzled expression. He started asking me something in Korean, which of course I did not understand. I tried to reply in English, but before I could make the attempt, my father quickly apologized to the driver and walked me back to the tour group who was watching from afar, shaking with laughter. It turned out that the bus I was running to was not the bus we were supposed to take. I dismissed my burning cheeks. I was glad I could be the butt of everyone's jokes on my first day in a foreign country.

It was a bit past lunch time when we were done checking in our hotel. Not doubt, everybody's stomachs were grumbling. Thank God after checking in, we were going to have our lunch and do a bit of sightseeing. While waiting for the others outside the hotel, we walked around nearby. There was a row…...

...told him; “you’ll never know he’s there; suddenly he’ll just be there looking at you, just looking.” It started so long ago, Tommy remembered, almost a year, when he was just eleven. That night, in the hen-yard, with the weasel’s eyes glistening in the flashlight. He never even fired a shot, just stood there with his mouth open, foolish, while the weasel dashed into the woods. And Pa knocking the rifle from his hands and asking, “Why didn’t you shoot? What you waiting on? What’s wrong with you, boy?” “Pa, I . . . I couldn’t, Pa. I just couldn’t.” Pa hunkered down and pulled on a blade of grass. He didn’t say anything for a minute, just knelt there chewing on that grass. “You never did like to kill nothing did you, boy? Even when you was small.” Tommy looked at the ground with out saying anything and his father sighed, “Tommy, dammit, a man always dies a little when he kills something, but it just plain has to be done. Some animals just ain’t no damn good and got the be killed. Understand?” He nodded without answering, still looking at the ground, and Pa stood up with a groan and they walked into the hen-house without speaking. They counted forty-three dead pullets , lying in red and white patches of feathers, blood and confusion. So he began to practice with the rifle, shooting at moving targets, and the rifle became part of his arm. It seemed so long that Pa practiced with him, so long. Again and again he would take a deep......

Something I Thought I Could Never Do

...Something I thought I could never do “You can’t do this. You are not strong enough. Do it again, and again. Again, until it is perfect, for me, not anyone else. Become stronger, show everyone they were wrong!” I repeatedly say this in my head until I can finally pull myself together to prove what I have. Someone once told me that I could not do what those other girls could, that they were better than I was, that it will take a long time for me to become as good as they are. Moreover, you know what I did. I had proved them all wrong. I proved them wrong with anger, fear and courage. I was ready to become great! My head was pounding. My heart was pumping. My ears were raging with steam. My eyes were blood shot red. I had felt every emotion of anger that night. So many familiar, and unfamiliar faces of athletes who were turning my hopes into nightmares only to satisfy their hunger of feeling in control just because they are better than I am. “I wouldn’t try that trick, you don’t have the skill composition for this high level of skill”, one girl told me. “Watch me” I spat. More and more girls kept coming at me with discouraging words and I did nothing but stand my ground and use my words like a bullet to think I am achieving some kind of control for myself. I stood there with the thoughts of their comments repeatedly in my head, still with rage coming from within me. With everything I had, I ran across the blue mat, left foot propped up, and arms next to......

Anniversary You'Ll Never Forget

...Anniversary you’ll never forget Statement to Police Officer: The time was 11:30 p.m. tonight, we had just arrived home. We walked into our home and felt a cold breeze upon entering, the curtains were blowing and the patio door was open. We flipped on the lights and we saw our home destroyed, ransacked. Our television was ripped off the wall, the leather couch was sliced with a sharp object, my $10,000 wedding set gone! I immediately called 911 and waited outside until you arrived. Statement to the Reporter: My husband and I were out celebrating our anniversary Friday night. As we entered the house, we felt a cool breeze and saw that the curtains were swaying back and forth, we immediately flipped on the lights and saw our house ransacked, demolished and personal belongings missing. Our television was ripped off the wall, our couch has been thrashed with a sharp object and white fluff was everywhere, my jewelry box had been messed with, my $10,000 wedding set was stolen. I immediately called 911 and waited until help arrived. I hope that the suspects try to pawn my rings, so they can be caught and punished. Statement to Friend: OMG! ...Exercise 3.1.1- Question: What would happen if wireless devices were not governed by the Wi-Fi Alliance and each vendor had its own standards and protocols? What impact would this have on your personal life or business communications? Answer: If wireless devices had no governance or set of rules to abide by, it would greatly impact everything we do day to day. Think of the hidden security that we have now with wireless. If that was gone it would be easier for someone to acquire your information, such as your social security number, your bank account information. What the Wi-Fi Alliance does is gives us piece of mind. How many people today know about the Wi-Fi Alliance? I believe, unfortunately, not enough people. Exercise 3.1.2- Question: Give another example of a model that is used to visualize something that is difficult to observe or perceive. How does the model make it easier to understand? Answer: My example is Mind Mapping. With Mind Mapping it’s very easy to collaborate all your ideas, thoughts, notes, and references all in one place. I think it would be easier to show someone what it is you’re talking about. And by adding all your information into the Mind Map, it’s very easy to explain to someone (like a Lab Partner) where you’re coming from and how you’re seeing the issue or problem at hand. Exercise 3.1.3- Question: Based on what you already know about networks, what are the different layers you think would be necessary for communication to be......

I Never Drink Wine

...Running Head: DRACULA “I Never Drink Wine” C. S Intro to Film “I Never Drink Wine”, Bram Stoker’s Dracula (1992) Director, France Ford Coppola~ A Director according to Goodykoontz in Film: From Watching to Seeing, by definition is “the person with the ultimate responsibility for the overall film.” While this may not sound all that difficult given the fact that there are many, many crew members involved in the making of a film and all have there own unique, various job descriptions to fill, but in fact the director is the most crucial person involved with the production of a film. “The director interprets script into personal vision and decides overall "look" with the production designer and cinematographer; directs actors and the action while shooting.” It is clear that the Director is the driving creative force behind a film's production, and acts as the crucial link between the production, technical and all the creative teams. In order to creatively translate the film's written script into actual images and sounds on the screen the director must visualize and define the style and structure of the film, then act as both a storyteller and team leader to bring this vision to reality. Not only must the director bring the film to life he/she will play a variety of roles from the start to the release of the film including but not limited to; casting, script editing, shot composition, shot selection and editing, as well as be aware of budget constraints. Ultimately......

Never Forget Speech

...NEVER FORGET On September 11th 2001 I was working at Gundersen Lutheran as a medical assistant. I had heard on the radio about a plane hitting the World Trade Center. It was time for my break so I decided to go to the lounge to see if there was more information on the TV. I arrived just in time to see the first tower collapse. This was history in the making; this was an act of war. I knew at that moment that we faced a terrible and vicious enemy, an enemy who cared nothing for the sanctity of life or the significance of freedom.  Patriotism was at an all time high following September 11th 2001. Americans united in one chant. Find those who threaten our freedom and never allow this to happen again. We were then given a flood of information. We began to learn about our enemy. We learned that they do not hail from one nation as other previous opponents of freedom did. They adhere to a radical view of a religion that places their beliefs above the lives of innocents. They felt that their message of hate was more important than the lives of three thousand innocent men, women, and children, people who had no major role in international politics and religious offense. We knew then that we faced a long and bitter challenge. We knew then that the road to preventing another 9/11 would be a difficult path filled with many pitfalls and dangers. We accepted this challenge willingly. We believed the slumbering giant had been awoken.  Today, almost six years later,......

One Day I Could Never Forget

...One Day I Could Never Forget Christina Behm COMM/215 09/01/2015 Glenn Dayley One Day I Could Never Forget There I was sitting in my car, rewinding the day in my head like a video on slow rewind. Today was my first day as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) and I bolted through the doors excited about my new job, only to have been meet in the face with a stench that you could not deny that was of urine and feces. My first reaction was to throw up, I thought how can these people breathe in here? Do they change these people? Give them showers? Surely something had to be done about the smell. When I asked, I was told I would get used to it. To me, I didn’t understand why or how we could let our elders smell like that. If they refused a shower, then to me we should be giving them a bed bath. The patients needed some form of cleaning daily. I had 13 patients on my list to get up for breakfast and shower or bed bath before breakfast. I started on my list, only to find that if I wanted things done right then it takes a lot longer than the allotted time. So that means that some of the 13 patients that are awake in the morning more than half of them do not receive proper care. You are rushed from the minute you clock in until you clock out. Still not finishing everything that needed to be done. I finished with breakfast, one of my ladies didn’t get up for breakfast, so after breakfast I went in to check on her and I couldn’t get any response from her. I flagged down the DON......

Eye Never Would Have Though

...Ringing from my blaring alarm clock instantly woke me up from my precious and deprived beauty sleep. I slowly rolled myself out of my tornado wrecked and dirty clothes filled bed and dragged my feet to turn off the ear wrenching reminder that wakes me up every beautiful morning. “Boy, I sure love waking up bright and early at seven o’ clock on a Saturday morning,” I thought to myself sarcastically as I sluggishly walked around my room to get ready for the routine five hour Saturday marching band practices. As a graduate, I was so eager to head back to my alma mater to become a color guard advisor for the program that built me to what I am today. It was my home away from home, but that all changed very quickly on Saturday mornings. Instantly, as I got out of my car, I could feel the blazing heat rise from the faded asphalt that came from the beaming down sun rays that shined from the sky above. I was already dreading the temperature that would soon only rise as I stepped foot onto the plastic and rubber artificially made turf. “I knew I should’ve slept in,” I scolded myself. As I entered into the renovated football stadium, where practice is held, the first thing I saw made me cringe. The band and the color guard were doing simple technique drills that they’ve been practicing the past three months, and it was as tragic as when the final sight of the front bow of the Titanic sunk under. I stopped to analyze the weaknesses and mistakes of each member. Many of the 32 girls in the......

Incident I Will Never Forger

...Incident I will never forget One day, a few months ago, I was alone in my house, when something terrible happened. I can still remember the incident very clearly. My parents were not at home that day, my mother had to rush back to my grandmother house in Melaka because my grandmother had stroke and my father were still at work. My brother and sister are studying abroad. My father returned very late in the night. As I had some school work to do, I stayed at home and decided not to go back to Melaka with my mother. I was reading my book in the living room. It was now raining heavily. After a few pages, I feel a bit hungry but i try to ignore it as I just had some snack few hours ago. After a while my hunger starting to disturb my concentration on the book I read. It was almost 11pm and I still not feeling sleepy. I remember my mother beef curry dish in the kitchen left over from lunch. I marked my book on the page I just read and place it on the dining table. I went into the kitchen and took the pot of curry, place it on the stove to reheat it then went back to the living room to continue my reading. All the sudden I smell smoke and people breaking in from the back door. Apparently I fell asleep and burn the curry on the stove. My neighbor tried to break the back door to put off the fire that started to spread on the kitchen wall. I was so lucky that the neighbor managed to put off the fire immediately when I fell asleep. When my parents returned, I told them......

I Will Never Forget

...Reflection During my first year of college, I have made things for me way harder then they had to be. Specifically in my spring semester of college when I began to take the class of English Composition 1. Taught by the brilliant and marvelous Ms. Ravick, English Comp. 1 was by far my toughest class of the semester. Throughout my semester of English Comp. 1 I have gain the enjoyment of writing essays, coming up with my own ideas, and stop repeating my writing when I write essays. Coming into English 101 freshman year was something that I was kinda afraid of. In high school English class never served as my strong point and I found myself constantly frustrated and confused as to why I never got the grade I felt I deserved. I would write essays to get it over with, using other people’s thoughts and ideas to support my less important thoughts and ideas about the subject. I never felt connected with any papers that I was asked to write and it showed, so coming into college being forced to do it all over again was definitely something I feared and something I wanted to get over with, but now I find myself enjoying writing. I have always written freely or on my own, but I find myself now able to sit down and enjoy writing an essay again. I enjoy the process of coming up with my own ideas and concepts and trying to make an argument for my reader so they can also take my side in that argument. With this class, I have learned to enjoy writing again. I have made it a point to......

May We Never Forget 911

...May We Never Forget “9-11” September 11, 2001 the Islamic extremists group “Al-Qaeda” hijacked four airplanes in attempt to attack America. They carried out suicide attacks on the World Trade Center, and the Pentagon. There were 19 al-Qaeda members involved in all four attacks. Two of the planes crashed into the World Trade Center, another crashed into the Pentagon, and the fourth crashed in a field in the middle of Pennsylvania. The attacks that day triggered significant U.S. involvement in tracking down “Osama bin Laden” who was responsible for the attacks. There were over 3,000 people killed that day in New York City and Washington, D.C. along with many firefighters and police officers. Tuesday morning September 11, 2001, at 8:45 the first plane an American Airlines Boeing 767 hit the north tower of the World Trade Center. The plane had just been fueled with nearly 20,000 gallons of jet fuel for its long trip before it hit the north tower. When the plane hit the building, it exploded leaving a huge hole near the 80th floor, the impact instantly killed hundreds of people working on that floor and surrounding floors while trapping others on the higher floors. Shortly after the first plane hit firefighters and police officers began to evacuate the north tower and the south tower, meanwhile local news began broadcasting live images of what appeared to be an accident. Then, approximately 18 minutes after the first plane hit, a second Boeing 767 United airlines Flight......

...industry giants had in their agenda, once this was clear a first class degree would not serve the purpose, the candidate have to satisfy the skill sets that the companies were looking for. And unanimously, the skills set that they were looking for communication skills. People in organisations usually spends 75 percent of their daily time on communication through writing, reading, listening, speaking, inter-debate etc. Effective communication is an essential component for organisation success, whether it is the interpersonal intra group organisation or external levels. A recent newspaper report said that our of very hundred interviews, only five qualified for the employability. It is not that were technically not sound but they lacked in communication skills. Communication skills are as important as technical qualifications for youngsters aiming at a bright career. Communications hold the key. Poor communication skills, low confidence levels and improper body language have resulted out in the job race. The person recruited will have to deal with the global clients directly. The command over the language and accent neutralization also plays a vital role in the recruitment process. I had an opportunity to visit the Engineering colleges, Agricultural College, Fishery Science College, P.G Institutes etc, during the last seven years and trained large number of students. While interacting with them, I found that majority of them are from rural areas and they need a brief......
